I seem to lack old pictures these days, but I’ll join in with what I have

Managed to take to the skies over East Anglia yesterday, other than the haze / mist it was a lovely day. 2003 was a great year for flying, lets hope 2004 is as good.

The Coffee and the bag of crisps that I had were very good, and I got to eat them looking at a Mustang (may have done that before somewhere as well).

Fair enough, I guess I see your point, but it wasn’t the fault of the Mercury, it would have still had the same result had it been something powered by something modern such as a pair of 0-540’s.

Why?? I thought it was a fuel flow issue rather than an engine problem which occured during the summer.

Chris Evans obviously needs a slap as does Matthew Kelly.

Do Martin Baker still operate a Meteor or two?

I went to look at the aircraft, stopped at a pub on the way home for food.

It seems that the RAF Museum is good at preserving airframes and pubs are good at serving food. It all goes horribly wrong when we ask pubs to preserve aircraft, they tend to chop them up, hang bits off the wall or dump them in lakes. Similarly the RAF Museum and the Fleet air arm Museum come to that are not the best at serving up food 😉

As yet I have not started flying but have been over to Old Buckenham on a number of occasions and agree very much with Moggy’s comments, seems to be one of the most friendly and welcoming flying clubs I have come across, plus they have a superb Restaurant in which to relax after your lesson.
