It’s a tough one, I had the complete set at one time which I rarely looked at, however after my place was broken into a few years back I lost the lot, now I miss not having them to refer to and therefore am trying to collect them all again.
If that many people arrived at Heathrow, Croydon would be just off the coast. 😀 At least then we could use Canary Wharf as a lighthouse.

So, what does everyone think the consequences would have been had the pilot punched the up his own rear Lord Marshall?
WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume we are talking about that pointy bus thing again????
Simple really, no Design Authority or manufacturer support on a ‘modern’ aircraft then No Fly.
Plus if we all go to Heathrow to see her last day the country will unbalance and fall over, Scotland will be even higher, the South of England will be under water and everything will fall off my desk :p
If there is this much fuss about Concorde’s being preserved I hate to think of the outcry if they just parked them up and sold them for scrap.
Well done BA / Air France for preserving them, who knows when we may get to take a holiday to look at one ofthe ones preserved around the world. Unless one comes to Norwich I will have to travel to see one anyway.

My point is this, Duxford should have one to tell the complete story, after all it,s the centre of the universe as far as vintage aircraft is concerned
No it’s not, that’s just a myth put around, we’ll be knee deep in the pointy holiday coaches before long. Concorde used to fly regularly to New York so send one there.

And what about the UK, why East Fortune, and why not Duxford (the version there already is not reflective of the aircraft now). Corcorde hardly visited Scotland
Aircraft cost money to preserve, if you don’t spend the money on them the corrode away and you end up scrapping them, why would Duxford double it’s Concorde preservation budget and have two aircraft that at the end of the day look the same. Surely the prototype is far more important than yet another production example. (Duxford will now prove me wrong by getting a second Concorde).
Lets hope we never try to preserve all the existing 747’s when they are finally retired.
When were you there? I visited the museum in March / April and there were no props on it then.
Concorde, mmmmmmm fast pointy nosed holiday coach. Not seen one in years (they tend not to come to Norfolk) Used to like seeing them at airshows in the 80’s though, it’s a shame but I suspect it’s a done job now. At least I will get to see one when I go on holiday next year taking it’s retirement in the sun.

Breighton’s Centenary of Flight
I understand that the Breighton event was very good, I unfortunately didn’t make it, however I did get to visit Breighton briefly last Sunday, what a wonderful airfield 😀
As for my list how could I have possibly forgotten about Woodchurch, for those who have never been make sure you are there on the first Sunday of August next year.
My highlights for this year have been Old Buckenham and Little Gransden 😀
How about the Egyptians for the Yak 11
Trans Florida Aviation / Canada / Dominican Republic / Indonesia / Air Racing etc, for the Mustang
Spain for Ju52’s, CASA 2.111’s, DC3’s etc (and to Doug Arnold for bringing the majority back from there)
India for Spitfires and Tempests
New Zealand (and Pete Coleman / Barry North) for a certain Mustang :p (I wonder when she will feature in FlyPast again)

But not Mustangs 😡 😡 😡 😡
Seems logical to me, if BA retain the maintenance on the aircraft where better for the hardworking engineers to go for a few weeks each year, New York for the Christmas shopping and Barbados for a relaxing summer holiday 😀
Now who has the application forms for this job?
