I’d be suprised to see the Yak 1 next year, can always hope though.

I’ve seen enough F-15/16s to last me a lifetime. Bringing them in would help drive me away.
Interesting you say that, I used to feel the same way about A10’s F111’s etc, now you rarely get to see them.
Earlier in the summer I was hard at work at my local airfield with the aircraft parked out on the grass having just come back from a trip when 2 A10’s passed overhead for some celebration at Mildenhall, whether they spotted us or not I don’t know (I suspect they did) but we were treated to 15mins of watching 2 A10’s wheeling around the sky (at a safe height) whilst they waited for their turn to join the formation. It was a fantastic sight and great to see.
I guess what I am trying to say is we should not get too complacent and should enjoy what we have. Also we should be grateful for the likes of TFC, WoGB, OFMC, ARCO, private owners etc for the opportunity to have seen the wide variety of types we have seen over the years as well as the engineers who have spent countless hours restoring and maintaining all the aircraft we have been able to see over the years.
I’ve enjoyed it all ad hope very much to be able to continue to enjoy it for years to come.
My feeling is that Warbids have had their best days in terms of variety. I can see the future being made up of a number of smaller collectors such as Rob Davies, Peter Teichman, Maurice Hammond etc having a much smaller number of machines than the likes of TFC etc and flying them mainly for pure enjoyment as well as shows. This however is likely to mean more duplication on the circuit rather than the struggle to get more and more exotic types built and registered.
I would very much like to be proved wrong and another arge scale collector set up in the UK but I’m not sure that will happen. I plan to savour my memories of the variety of 10 years ago and enjoy what we have today and hope it continues for the future.
I saw the Tornado being kept company by a Strikemaster in storage during the summer, looks pretty complete and in good condition, it would be nice to see it preserved somewhere.

TFC Sea Fury would be nice. There is a very large cicular lump of metal with 18 cylinders sticking out of it close by too 🙂
Is that not the Bearcat???? 😀
Is this stuff definately in the UK, last time I spoke to the owner it was all stored out of the country.
BM597 has been fully restored. If we are including aircraft that have been restored to an original condition I would like to include ‘Janie’ as the level of attention to detail that has gone into that restoration is superb.
MH434 had an overhaul carried out by ARCO some years ago.
The Shuttleworth Spitfire was restored in the early 70’s.
Could be a difficult question to answer methinks
😀 😀
The rear seat wouldn’t give you the best view of it, I think probably the safest pleace to view would be the next county. :p
I think a limbo and balloon bursting routine with a Mustang would be different, anyone want to volunteer to hold the limbo poles?

… and, Alexis, (unless there was another A. Lambert in a flying jacket at Duxford today) – Great Knees! I bet you were cold.
And people say I shouldn’t be let out alone, at least I remember to put my trousers on when I go out 😀 😀 😀 😀

I love being in the right place at right time and seeing something rather nice fly over…..Missed the pair of Harvards when they went north a few weeks ago…….they were routing over Skeggy way……??
There were a pair of Harvards out of Norfolk routing over Skegness on the last weekend of July.
Yep, cut across the wash on the way back, slightly higher on the way up and routed west of Mildenhall, overhead Wisbech and Boston.
Sorry Digby, I have to come out from time to time, the sound of Merlin’s wakes / sobers me up 😀 😀
Doesn’t Kermit Weeks have an La9 or La11? Seem to recall hearing something along those lines.
