WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,WHY,Im sure all the guys at Hawker Restorations and TFC are asking the same thing
Only why did they bother when all they get is this kind of comment
Just be glad it was in the hanger for you to see
No doubt if it had not made the show that would have been wrong too
Well done to all at TFC and Hawkers, the Hurricane is a credit to you all
Well said bentwingbomber.
I took a look at the Hurricane about a month ago and thought that there was still a shed load of work to be done, I think for just getting it to Duxford for all to see deserves a big round of applause from everybody, so it didn’t fly, at least it is here for all to see and not locked away in a hanger out of public view. Well done guys.
Can’t say that I’ve ever been to a really bad airshow, but I guess the last Mildenhall show a couple of years ago would be the worst. It took an age to get infrom the A11 roundabout and the display had some massive gaps in it, however it was sunny and the beer was cold so I sat about soaking up the sun and having a sociable drink.
Tell me more!!!!!!
What do I need? (other than a pc) where do I find this game? How do I get myself a P51 by Friday, or will I have to resort to something dull?
This could be fun.
A couple of minor points, the land warfare hall is pretty much where the Miles Student ended up after engine failure in the mid 80’s. A one off I grant you.
During landing in a long nosed warbird, such as a Spit or P51 a curved approach is preferable (so I’m told, never having piloted one) as the pilot can keep the runway in view for the majority of the approach, come in straight and the runway effectively disappears long before you have reached it (very disconcerting as a passenger), fine if its a massive concrete slab, but not fun if it’s a small grass thing hiding amongst other less aircraft friendly grass.
Many Thanks Snapper, a truly great day, a honour to have been there today
I understand this happened 3 weeks or 4 weeks ago now, I heard about it from someone attending the show at the time but had no facts so didn’t post.

The aircraft lost last week was imported to the UK by Visionair (Jeff Hawks outift?) as one of a pair. The other was lost on the delivery flight, sadly killing the well known display pilot Neil Williams.
Was it not Warbirds of Great Britain (Doug Arnold) that imported it to the UK?
Glad I went up to the airfield tonight now.
Not the sort of publicity Legends needs, have a good safe weekend everybody.
Looking at their schedule it seems the JU52 will shortly head for Newcastle, then after a couple of flights there on to DX on Friday.
Interesting, I was under the impression that MW810 had left France for America some time ago.
Interesting info though.
Isn’t that as it should be, bare fuselage and painted wings????
Is it in the EDP Snapper, if so I’ll have to get a copy
Congratulations Hawker Restorations and TFC, great news

Moggy
Phew!!!! Thank goodness for that, I thought you were losing your will to fly.
Is your aircraft back in the air yet Moggy?
With the work carried out on this aircraft so far the only place for it is in the sky, however my pggy bank is empty so I can’t influence it’s ultimate fate.
