What a waste of money, lovely to see it fly (actually I didn’t because it was broken!!!!). So much more could have been done with that money however.

The Harvard is an advanced trainer, hence the designation AT-6, as opposed to basic trainer such as a BT-13 or primary trainer such as a PT-13, PT-19, PT-26 etc.
Without all of these it would be difficult for the fighters and bombers to have anyone to fly them, in my book (as they served in a watime theatre) they are most definately warbirds, as are some Cubs, Austers etc.

I follow and understand the need for warbirds to be painted in sponsor colours, or plastered over with stickers, but who would go and paint their P-51 yellow?

To me that kind og defeats the whold idea of warbirds, but like BSG-75 above, I will still watch them if polka dotted….

Don’t forget this was 30+ years ago before the ‘Warbird’ movement became as popular as it is today. I was under the impression that I-BILL was previously a corporate aircraft until OHB bought it. I have also seem pictures of I-BILL in a similar scheme but white with red trim.
As for ‘who would go and paint their P-51 yellow?’ I guess the answer to that would be someone who wanted a yellow P-51…..

Nope, too wet, too cold, too snowy. Hangar doors have been welded shut for winter.

Not Mustang wheels, Mustang wheels dont have the 4 upstands for fitting the hubcap.
