Ebay may be off limits but that one was with Dick/James Everett near Ipswich http://www.everettaero.com/
They may well be able to sort you out.

I think you may have a bug of some description on the lens, some ugly looking thing anyway, where have all the Phantoms gone that i used to spend my days off watching… Oh, blast 20 years has gone by….
When you have mastered the 400D can you teach me how to use mine? What lens are you using?

Sadly in the UK for most ex military warbird aircraft we no longer have the option of putting them on the N register.

i would personally like to see the 2 p-40s together and the gladiators, maybe a big mustang gathering or something like that.

Unlikely to see a big Mustang gathering as there not that many airworthy in Europe (11 maybe??)

The problem i have with flying legends is its 2 much of the same aircraft if thee was something new and unique and a different flying list i would go every year but most of us have seen the b-17 and catalina and dnt get me wrong i like to see them but we need more variety something new something that would really make me want to go

So things like a P40C, FW190 (static last year), Hawk 75, Polikarpov, A36 etc etc etc are not something new or varied then?

How about shifting Legends to every other year, and replacing it with a classic jet show?

I thought Legends was organised by TFC, last time I looked in their hangar they didn’t have any jets.

I spent the day wondering why I took the Stearman apart on Wednesday night, it would have been a cracking day for a whiz round. Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

I tell you what is wrong with it…. the prop blades need turning as they are at the wrong pitch…. the thing should be doing 450mph to look like that…. so therefore the gear should be up…. :p

I would guess that IWM were looking for a suitable exhibit, and the cost of aquiring and restoring one of the most popular warbirds in the world, perhaps one which was potentially airworthy, well the cost would have been huge and pointless.

I’d rather see a real Mustang fly and save the replica for the AAM where it is doing a good job.

Then again, some nice man said to the RAFM “oh here, have my totally airworthy P51” which they said tyes please and stuck it on a silly revolving thing.

If the IWM had wanted a P51 that badly they only had to look in Lambeth where they seem to have one hanging from the rafters like an airfix kit….
