It really sucks when people just put any old crap on the forum instead of answering the post.
Anyhow part of the reason I dont post much here anymore is exactly what happened at the start of the post. funny answers to a simple question or dont we do decent answers anymore.
Clearly people don’t have a sense of humour here any more, which is part of the reason why I don’t post much any more, particularly about the small contribution I make to the preservation scene as it would most likely be seen as wasting bandwidth.
Or alternatively work a little bit harder……
Out of my window I can see lots of cars goind round a roundabout, all of which seem to be roadworthy, a Police Station and more importantly a pub…. which is where I am going now.
Dont think there is enough left of TF956 to restore, water is not as soft as it looks plus it does nasty things to certain metals in a very short space of time.
The two seat aircraft has been restored and is flying with a private owner in America.
If you organised a Warbird display, and your main participants were Harvards, I suspect remarks would be made!
Oh how the air display world has changed, not too many years ago that was about all you were likely to get in any number. Guess we are rather spoilt now.
In my mind TD248 is about the best I’ve encountered, (yes I would say that;) )
I prefered it in the silver and red scheme, apart from anything else it was much easier to keep clean (as was TE184 in the grey, not that it ever flew back then)
Have you tried speaking to those at the Museum of Berkshire Aviation?
I started my volunteer work at Duxford in 1984 and have since met a lot of great people and made some good friends along the way.
