Yes a fresh paintjob with the same markings would look great. I don’t think she has been painted since she left her gate guardian duties, correct me if I am wrong. I know that much oil and polish has been lovingly applied to her,,to keep her looking her best..

I sometimes wish the CWHM – Canada’s flying Lancaster would repaint their Lancaster but I also realize that there is a high cost to a repaint, and those monies could be better put to use in keeping her in the air!!

    KB944 Canada Aviation Museum

I have a soft spot for all Lancasters also. but I have visited Ottawa’s Lancaster KB944 on many occasions and I am going
to throw my vote towards the Canadian Mk X’s..

I do like the Canadian Cold War Lancaster colour scheme. It’s too bad only two have been preserved in these colours when they served so many hours in ths role.

Any progress been made at Bruntingthorpe with the QRA Hangars
for the LPG Lightnings? At least they might be saved abit longer if they get some of the smaller taxible jets under cover.

But the cost to build a hangar to house a Vulcan would not be cheap$$. Especially one that does not fly anymore

Is the Lufthansa Viscount used to train crews on moving aircraft or would it be a runner? used to train aircraft mech.

What does the future hold for NX611? Any more fast taxi runs like those done for the movie.

    Maybe a new paint scheme?

Does someone have to be a qualified/checked out pilot inorder to taxi a former airworthly civil or ex military aircraft? I know that former display pilots do the taxiing for XH558..but what about all the other taxing airframes?

And with regards to either XM655 or XL426 flying again, I think both will remain on the ground. I don’t believe those behind the amazing restoration of XM655 ever planned on flying her again. I think they hoped to extend her life by bring her up to her present status(taxible) and hopefully maintain her at that level. 🙂

All groups seem to have done amazing work.

Does anyone know which are runners..or at least capable of running if fuel was available and local H&S allowed it?

Maybe they were not able to due the concerns of the health & safety.

The Seahawk looks really sharp. I have seen pictures of that one is the past and she was looking kinda rough.

Still an example collection considering it a private collection too!!

Are there still concerns about them wanting to relocate the collection.

    Andrew,

No problem, I was wondering as to the Victor’s condition. I had heard that they had done some good work with regards to the rebuild of the cockpit.

    Still very interesting stuff.

Good stuff..my biggest challenge is trying to keep the file size under the 100klimit so that I can post them.

Anyone more pictures. Do they still have a Victor Cockpit on site under restoration? and maybe a Valiant?

I have seen quite abit of damage done to aircraft interiors by those with less appreication than most avaition buffs. So I think the pay per visit idea does seem to make sence given that it
might have fund the preservation of an airframe. But a few live aircraft at a musuem does add quite alot to the whole experience. And the idea of opening up a few hangars and bring out a few for the photo guys sounds great but I realize that it is hard to pull off..lack of funds seem to be the biggest problem.. I can’t photograph what’s hanging from the ceiling anymore!!

Today bad you couldn’t have a setup like Bruntingthorpe but with hangars..
