A few of the DH2 more plus visiting aircraft from Havard Association who were providing flights for visitors.
Thanks Troy…
Look forward to seeing a few more pictures of what the interior looks like…
Andrew….
655B Ottawa July 2003
Here is how she looked a few years back in 2003 when she was on external storage at CAvM…pretty complete even if looking abit rough…
Peter,
She came from the Canada Aviation Museum Ottawa (outside storage)
Andrew
Thanks for posting recent pictures of 655B….:)
I had taken many photos of her at CAvM Rockcliffe…she was getting pretty rough looking…do you think she will be displayed one day next to the Lancaster or Neptune at Greenwood?
That would be excellent news if the Duxford Shack can be kept in one piece….
And is there room indoors in the new space or perhaps in one of the other hangars then?…as she would be the only perserved indoors Mk3 correct in the UK…just hope she ain’t hung rom the ceiling:rolleyes:
CWHM Lancaster
Speaking of Lancaster maint….Has the CWHM Lancaster had a major service since it started flying again in 1988…I know she has had engine overhaul/service(s) but I don’t think she has been taken apart like PA474 since she was restored in the 1980’s…anyone seen or heard anything…
I found this picture of CF that was send to me some time ago(can’t remember who at this time)…but it does give you a sense of the size of the parts and of the rebuild that is ahead of the CF team that is going to reassemble this Britiannia….Glad to see that she will be put together…:)
And the rubber looks pretty good also…
The tires and wheels would make an excellent coffee table in my rec room 🙂
Thanks for sharing those pictures of the Comet…..
The colours of this BOAC scheme seem much darker than the one being restored at Seattle in BOAC colours,,,theirs is much lightly shade of blue…..
Will the Victor being returned to external display once repainted and cleaned up?
Humm that’s sad…I was under the impression that XM496 at Kemble had at least three engines that were ground run or capable of being run….have they decided to preserve her in a static form in order to help save funds..
What is the current status for Bristol Britannia G-ANCF?
I have also been worried about the lack of preservation of the larger commerical types…but it seems a few have been kept in running order because they have a mixed career civil and miltary…the Kemble Britannia and Brunty Comet are nice examples of good runners…:)
Sounds like she is in good hands….
Hum very interesting…
Does the museum own the Mig’s?
On a different subject but with regards to Newark Air Museum
Are there plans for restoration of the Mig 23 and Mig 27?
