You were unlucky with the sun there mate. Super shot of the Saudi MD-11 though.
Will you be at Stansted this weekend? I’m going to pop in on Sunday morning (if it’s not raining) enroute to Duxford.
Think I’ll probably skip going to the spot by SR Tech with all the security around STN at the mo. It’s hard enough as it is round there.
Super shots. I dream about getting shots of those aircraft… As a biz jet collector I fully realize just how rare that SP and 75 are. Well done!
check the title mate
Super shot of the new Falcon attacking the sky!
Yeah I’ve heard of it but I’m yet to be convinced it works well (to my eyes) without losing sharpness, although Adam Dowley is processing a few images for me to see, so I may yet be converted. I don’t so much worry about shooting at higher than ISO200, I just don’t like it! Not for aviation anyway. I’ll sometimes shoot non-aviation stuff at ISO3200 because I actually want the effects of the noise you get. Most of the time if I need to go above ISO200 shooting aviation there just isn’t enough light anyway, and finding a pub is a much better option. 🙂 Paul
Lol mate.
If I need to use neat image, I tend to get rid of the grain first and then sharpen. The higher the settings you use, the blurrier the shots will look – as I imagine neat image blurs out the pixels/noise.
Totally agree with Sam. That PIA 773 shot is a cracker.
Great shots. I wouldn’t worry about shooting at ISO250 though. I do it all the time and edit out the grain later.
Ever heard of a program called ‘Neat Image’?
superb shots Adam, as usual.
super shots from a mixed bag of angles.
Love that A320 head-on shot with the clouds in the background.
Great work Adam!
Is it easy to that spot by walking / if you don’t have a car? I’m thinking of spending the day in dublin but was unsure on how to get from the terminal to that spot.
Cheers,
Alex
Nice shots. Not complaining or anything but do half the people who post to this forum live near Glasgow? 🙂 Every other thread is full of Glasgow shots. 😮
I might have to go up there myself and see what I’m missing… 😉
Hi Jamie, I don’t think there will ever be a tool to get rid of heat haze. It’s a problem to all photographers shooting a subject over distance.
I find that extreme haze adds a blurry affect and can even make a straight line look wavy.
Even though I’ve already said it, your shots of those A346s are superb! Really like the JAL 777 head-on shot as well. What lens do you use?
Super shots Jamie! Those approach shots are stunning. Not sure about the framing on the New Zealand 744, but those A346 shots are fantastic.

Thats interesting… you get the same affect when sharpen masking. For the purpose of this post here is an example:
The settings are: 50/20/0
cheers for that.
