Indeed redundancy is a terrible thing! Thank god DUB is staying, that could have cost me my job!

I would also be devastated to see BD go, Ive work with them for the lat 3 years here at DUB and they have the potential to be a great airline. Hopefully LH wil be able to sort things out.
He should still have his airport clearance, for example I was made redundant from my airport job in August, I got a new one in October and still had my clearance, didnt have to provide references or details of employment etc for the last 10 years the second time around. When I was made redundant I had to give in my pass and was given a new one when I got my new job.
These stupid comments towards the German are typical British! When it comes to commercial aviation who at the moment has the most financially stable airlines? Why its the Germans, and yet BD/BA/VS are all in trouble!

If they dont work at the airport they cant hold the ID pass, however once cleared to hold one, that clearance last a certain amount of time, about 10 years I think. Its easier for them to hire people who have already been cleared than having to go through the process of clearing new people .
Its not thefirst time Aer Lingus have done this, they did it on a DUB-VCE flight a few years back.
G-MIDC flew to LGW from MAN this morning and then operated a charter to ACE before reurning and heading off to DLM again. Infact it seems to just operate charters at the minute.
Ive a right pain with thes argument at this stage! Ryanair can only charge you to use the toilet if they stop selling food and and drink. Its the law that they provide free toiliets when they are selling these items.
Whats worth more all the food and drink they sell, or the few € theyll make from charging for the loo?
BA should consider BOB for these short haul flights, EI have made a huge success of it and apparenly at the moment BOB is the only thing making EI any money!
BA would just need to get it right and not sell some of the tack FR do.
BA oneworld partner IB also offers BOB so its not as if they would be the first ”legacy” carrier to do so.

G-MEDU first flightwas to DUB this morning, I got up close to her, soshiny and new! Aviance made a mess of the turnaround and delayed her 2 hours going back, inbound passengers waited 1 hour for bags, things can only get better!
I was in MAN on Tuesday and there was a TCX A330 delayed MAN-CUN, I checked flightstats later on and it showed itleft with a 5/6 hour delay.
It would appear TCX are having some tech problems with their A330’s.
Does anyone know how highly utilised they are this summer?

I always thought VS and BD would go very well together.
Can BD get the TXL and MXP slots back? if so I think a mixture of restarting LBA/MME/JER-LHR and having VS long haul feed would make the combination a great success!
Also if BD and VS did tie up where would this leave BD and the *A?
