I would gladly swap the Hampden here in Vancouver for you Wellington in Hendon!

This was taken in May 2004 with my Uncles grave at Brookwood.

Hey Mike,
Welcome to the forum! Nice pictures!

I’ve already whined enough about not being in the UK! 😡

Nice pics. Please send more when they’re available! Does anyone have the history on the B17?
Todd
I’m a hop skip and a jump from the Vancouver International airport. I’ll see if I can find the mosquito for some more pics.

The first Warbird you saw fly!
I remember all too well! It’s a bit of a long story. My Mom and I were over in the Philippines visiting friends in the early 70’s. I was just a young whippersnapper! It was an F4 Phantom either heading or coming back from a sortie in Vietnam. I wish I knew where the photo’s were of that beautiful holiday.
Cheers,
Todd
I wish I came across some beautiful pieces on my dredger in the Fraser river… All I ever come across is sand, Sturgeon and silt. 🙁

Those are my kinda toys! 🙂
Looks like you had one hell of a good time Papa Lima. Hooters Vancouver is a busy place…and for good reason! 🙂
Todd
Trumper,
I’m very jealous! I would love the opportunity to attend the amount of airshows that the UK has every year. Here in Vancouver we are lucky to see two every summer, unless you are willing to cross the border into the U.S. To do so can mean hours in a line up and the possibility of random full body searches. (I kid you not). Lots of security. Keep the photos coming!
Cheers,
Todd
What a nice tribute! My Uncle lost a friend from 405 Squadron. He was flying Halifax II
LQ-Q (RCAF Sgt. Mike Hudema). They were low on Petrol after an ops and attempted to land at West Malling and failed, so on the go around they lost engines and crashed 7 miles north of Sevenoakes. This is the information I found at the Public records office in May.
Such a tragedy! My thoughts are with the families of the crew who died and I hope for a quick recovery for the crew member who was able to eject. Really sad news!

What a nice find! The recovery as Starfire has mentioned is very reminiscent of the B29 that was brought to the surface and burned. I hope the restoration is successful!
