It would be a sad day indeed if the Red Arrows were ever axed.
Any pictures available of the Defiant. It would be interesting to see some pictures before it is unavailable for photography. I will try and get along to see it in the flesh when it is in situ but not sure when I will find the time.
Is the Dominie going straight on display?
I look forward to seeing it next time I visit.
Re-enactment or no re-enactment I would love to see Fifi come to the UK and would make every effort to see her flying at every opportunity I could. Just to see and hear her in the air would be enough for me!
Fantastic job!
I would love to see a tail chase between the DB powered 109 and and say a Mk9 Spit at a UK airshow especially Legends. I don’t mind which one is the quarry and which one is the chaser.
It’s important to keep at least a few 109s flying with their original engines. Even though I still enjoy seeing a Buchon flying at an airshow.
I used to buy AM and FP every month without fail. In the 90’s AM was the better quality magazine, glossy pics good quality photography, however in my opinion in recent years it lost its way a bit. FP on the other hand became the better quality magazine, excellent photography etc and more content. I have not bought AM for some time but it looks rather skinny compared with FP these days.
I would welcome both magazines and feel there is room for both as others have said providing they don’t contain the same content. Would not want to loose any historic aviation magazine. Just my own opinion.
Possibly a static mock up for promotional purposes at air shows?
It is a large and complex aircraft to dismantle and move but I sincerely hope that a Museum will see their way clear to preserving this piece of history for future generations. Even today too many heritage assets are being lost to the scrap man. One thing is for sure one day, in the not too distant future, if that happens to this airframe we will be saying how was that allowed to happen?
Maybe naïve but couldn’t it go to Cosford for storage and potential trade/exchange in the future, or even eventual long term loan to a smaller struggling aviation museum who do not have the resources to go through the current acquisition hoops?
In my own opinion Aeroplane Monthly lost the plot long before it was acquired by Kelsey, they just bought into a ‘sinking ship’. Flypast however has gone from strength to strength and still remains a fantastic magazine. There has only been one truly great editor who led Flypast to the great publication it still is today, he is also a stalwart in the historic aviation community and genuinely passionate about the subject. We all know who he is I am sure. (You can pay me later Ken!).
My fav articles are the ‘from the workshop’ series and the more detail about an aircraft’s restoration the better as far as I am concerned. I would love to see more articles like that or am I just an anorak?
Dont know too much about it but beleive it to be a Norwegian Fjord recovery a year or two ago.
Remarkable pictures though!

Please, please post them as soon as you can I for one would love to see them.
Forgive my ignorance but is the Red Bull P38 the one that used to race at Reno called White Lightning?
So sorry to hear about last nights vote. If you do decide to go to appeal then at least the council cannot enforce the removal or destruction of the aircraft while that procedure is ongoing and the appeal procedure can take a long time. I understand that there is a backlog in dealing with the appeals and then they need to take there due process.
At least this will give you a breathing space and an opportunity to consider your next moves.
Good luck chaps!
Any chance of some pictures?
