F-16 downed by MiG-23
Did you allude to Israeli F-16A Block 10s and Syrian MiG-23MFs?
You’re welcome. Almost all these weapons are always fitted under the fuselage for better aircraft handling; AGM-88s are sometimes fitted under the inner (wet) wing pylons to give the missile WGU a better FOV. Obviously, BOZ pods are always fitted under the outer pylons. The integration of the IRIS-T into the fleet is not yet scheduled.
Italy has bought 42 AGM-65F in 1994 (delivered between 1996 and 1997) but their current operational status is doubtful.
Full MLU IDS Tornadoes (10 IDS airplanes, after 2015) will carry:
– Storm Shadows;
– GBU-12/16;
– EGBU-16;
– EGBU-24 (with BLU-109 warhead too);
– GBU-32;
– GBU-39 (500 ordered, yet to be delivered);
– CLDP (to be replaced with the Litening III);
– Reccelite electro-optical reconnaissance pods;
– BOZ-102 countermeasures dispenser pods;
– BOZ-102EC MAW and contermeasures dispenser pods.
Full MLU ECR Tornadoes (15 airplanes, after 2015) will use BOZ-102/102EC pods and AARGMs.
Anyways, I’ll attempt to steer us back. Since apparently the Maverick has never been used on Italian or German IDS’s what is the reason why it is always mentioned? Outside of HARM, do the Italian and German aircraft have ANY type of air to surface missile they can use?
Once, Italian Tornadoes had 60 Kormoran 1 anti-ship missiles, now retired; in less than three years the entire fleet (composed of 58 MLU aircraft) will be able to use the Storm Shadow. Except for the HARM, there’s no other air-to-ground missile operated by the Aeronautica Militare.
According to many sources the AGM-65D has really been integrated on the Tornado; AFAIK the missile has never been used by italian aircraft because the Aeronautica Militare does not own the weapon (although another aircraft, the AMX Ghibli, was and still is in use for close air support missions).
Thank you very much Jackonicko!
I wish Italy, S.A. and Austria too will join these Drops…
What are the differences between the Raven 1000ES and the ES-05?
Thank you EEL, I’ve just ordered it… 😉
Is it available for online purchase?
PDF, or something like that… :confused:
At low altitude the game would have favored the Rafale easily for a number of reasons including the flight control restrictions on the Typhoons near the ground.
This sounds new to me… what about them?
To tidy up, it was 60 Rafale F3-04T comprising 25 Cs, 25 Bs, and 10 Ms, right?
Taking the totals on order to:
13 F1s: 1 C, 2 Bs, 10 Ms
48 F2s: 7 Cs, 25 Bs, 16 Ms
59 F3s: 36 Cs, 11 Bs, 12 Ms
60 F3-04Ts: 25 Cs, 25 Bs, 10 Ms (which is 50 for the AdlA and 10 for the MN, not 51 and nine)180 aircraft
or
48 Ms (10 F1, 16 F2, 12 F3 and 10 F3-04T)
63 Bs (2 F1, 25 F2, 11 F3 and 25 F3-04T)
69 Cs (1 F1, 7 F2, 36 F3 and 25 F3-O4T)180 aircraft
Source…? :confused:
:rolleyes:
Switzerland: Gripen;
Brazil: Rafale;
Malaysia: Typhoon;
Korea: F-35.
First Su-35 export customer? Ukraine or Kazakhstan.
Russia Signs $35-Mln Missile Contract with Malaysia
Some media outlets that mention this newsbit also add the contract is for 35 missiles. is that an error? someone mixed up the dollar value and number of missiles?
also, can we be sure the missiles in question are indeed rvv-ae, like the newspaper say? or are they rather rvv-sd, which would make much more sense, knowing rvv-ae is a model that will soon be 20 years old. ?
And is it the first order?
Hi everybody,
is there an image of a Block 5 or Tranche 2 Typhoon without the PIRATE?
Excluding german and austrian airplanes, obviously…
