Some amazing videos. And the one featuring the ‘gentle kiss of the Dunlops’ on the rwy at LCY is a corker. I think that the crew member responsible for that, would be better employed in a breakers yard 😉

I think its time that the ordinary Cypriot citizens took to their streets. If their inept ‘government’ of idiots, is beginning to help itself to their hard earned, what have they got to lose? I’d be incensed if I was a hard working Cypriot, watching as the gaggle of buffoons that run the place, were denying me access to my own money, by shutting the banks. It making me angry, and I don’t even live there:mad:

There goes another one. So many of the actors that I grew up with, have left this mortal coil, that its making me very conscious of my own mortality.

I always likes Richard Wattis, Alastair Sim, Eric Sykes, and my two all time faves from that era, Margaret Rutherford, and Hattie Jacques. God Bless them all.

RIP Frank, and thanks for all the laughs!;)

That was the first thing that crossed my mind, as I watched the report. I still find it amazing, that Emirates envisage filling all those A380s they have on order. Still, I guess that like Lion Air, they’ve done the math.

I think that if I were a citizen of Ireland, Portugal etc, I’d be making ‘new arrangements’ for my savings PDQ. From what I understand, ‘rather surprisingly’ its the less well off in Cyprus that will be picking up the tab for this mess. I know how I’d feel, if my government was robbing me of part of my personal savings.

Could someone explain to me, why it will be those with savings below a certain amount, that will be hit by this situation. I don’t have the economic knowledge to properly understand that. Thanks.

Some great pics. I’ve never liked the Niki livery, I think its the housefly motif that’s always put me off it.

A more appropriate question should be; is our credit good?

Countries, like businesses, or individuals, must live ‘within their means’. Of course it is possible to borrow money but that borrowing isn’t free; it costs money. If the lenders think you are a bad risk then the cost of your borrowing goes up.

The ‘credit crisis’ just represented a time that the cost of borrowing went up across-the-board; at the new rates some countries could still afford to borrow, some couldn’t.

I’m obliged to you. Thanks for that.
