A more appropriate question should be; is our credit good?
Countries, like businesses, or individuals, must live ‘within their means’. Of course it is possible to borrow money but that borrowing isn’t free; it costs money. If the lenders think you are a bad risk then the cost of your borrowing goes up.
The ‘credit crisis’ just represented a time that the cost of borrowing went up across-the-board; at the new rates some countries could still afford to borrow, some couldn’t.
I’m obliged to you. Thanks for that.
Are we paying our way though? A genuine question chaps, as I’ve no idea.

I’ve still got my ‘Tiny’ cuddly mascot from my only baby flight. A real shame they’ve gone 🙁
Yep, as usual, every poor b****r getting clobbered, except the b******s who caused this unholy mess 😡

Some nice pics there, especially the KLM F70.
Well, that settles it, you’ll just have to fix up another flight over Cornwall, I can imagine that it looks really good 😉
Did it look something like this?
Moggy
It certainly did, although, I think that we had slightly better viz on the day.
haha not quite got your flying stomach eh 😉 🙂 I actually felt a bit sick in the air back in 2010 during a flight over Cambridge and I have been flying since 2003. I think my sugar level dropped as after a divert and a cup of tea with 2 sugars I was alright again. I must have looked bad up there at the time as my mate, Tony, looked at me and said ‘Do you feel alright?’ 😀
Sounds like you had a good trip overall. If you ever get the chance, fly over Cornwall. That place looks amazing from the air.Nice shot, Moggy 🙂
I was a bit embarrassed at feeling a little ill towards the end, but as I say, I made it down ‘intact’ If my dear friend should offer another flight, I’ll certainly go again. I would expect that a trip down to Cornwall would be a longish trip? You guys would have a better idea on that than I 😉 I know that a trip on a Ryanair Stansted to Newquay was around 45 mins or so, but its not a trip I ever made.
Presently re-reading Orwell’s 1984 on iPad. I’ve not read this book since my final year at school. Grim stuff alright, more relevant to today, than to the seemingly more ‘innocent’ days of 1975. 🙁

I’m quite sure that as he’s ‘not bothered’ about the second win, he’ll be donating it to charity. I suspect he won’t though 😉

Yes, it’s a nice part of the country to see from ‘up there’ I think one of the more memorable sights that day, was around The Wash, but Ely Cathedral was pretty cool too. It was beautiful weather, so visibility was excellent. However, on the way back to Cambridge, we did encounter some turbulence, and I think that if the flight had gone on very much longer, I’d have needed ‘the bag’ 😉 Would I do it again? you bet!
Neil.
Despite a 25 year aviation, I had never flown on anything as small as these types of aircraft….until last October. A good friend of mine, offered me the chance of a trip from Cambridge in a Cherokee. We had a just under 2 hour odyssey over the sights of East Anglia, what a treat! Nice pics.
