Great images. I regularly see, and certainly hear, a high flying Antonov twin heading NW over my location just near Cambridge, I wonder if it is your EMA visitor?

Condolances to the crew, their families and to those killed on the ground. Its all the more tragic that according to witnesses the pilot appeared to try to avoid the residential areas and that the payload was relief aid. Sad day:( BTW does anyone know the operator?

I’ve said this once, and I’ll say it again, and I’ll keep protesting it.

Passengers cannot have it both ways. You cannot travel on a £35m jet for peanuts and expect to be treated different to this. Paying a stupid price for your ticket such as £1 (or even £100) for these types of trips is just not sustainable.
You get what you pay for, and I personally detest Ryanair, and would never fly with them – ever. If you expect to pay peanuts for your ticket, don’t complain when it all goes wrong.

Oooo, you’ve no idea how much this grieves me to say but I think that RYR were fulfilling their part of the bargain. I could not agree with Deano more and as it reflects my sentiments exactly, I cannot add any thing to his post. As for the behaviour of the pax? it was of course disgraceful and unacceptable whatever the circumstances. As a Duty Officer I was often called to a fracas at our check in desks and on one occasion a female member of our staff was struck across her face by a business class passenger with his diary which had those gold metal corners, simply because he could not be seated next to his wife for the hour or so trip to DUB as they were both very late and lucky to get on at all, no it wasn’t RYR! I confiscated his ticket and put him into the hands of the Police and our check in staff member pressed charges, and I’m pleased that she did so. On three occasions I was physically assaulted by pax and to this day I still have a shoulder which ‘grumbles’ in cold damp weather. And as for being spat on? I would not tolerate that behaviour from a loved one let alone a total stranger. But on some occasions there were other pax who intervened when they saw our staff in dodgy situations, my kudos to all of those. Sadly I fear that this kind of behaviour is becoming the norm amongst a sizeable number of people in general.

If you’re going this minimalist you may just as well put a small Finnair logo by each door and of course the obligatory registration and leave it at that:( I sincerely hope that as MD80 says its an interim scheme.

Thanks you lot! There I was enjoying my walk in the institutions garden and now I’m back to bed on sedatives! Who would have thought that you would ever see a Chinese corporate Gulfstream in Mao’s China. I have really enjoyed these pics but due to internet loss for the past 6 days, I’m playing catch up:D

As GA points out, why was this not thought out properly before hand? Another case of common sense disappearing over the horizon with its ar**e on fire.

And of course the dear old taxpayer will have to stump up! Another one for the ‘Happiness Survey’

The Communist governments in the USSR and its allies used to do research like this on their respective proletariat. Happiness was compulsory I understand. Nothing new under the sun eh;)

Exactly what will the government do about it when it confirms that we’re a nation of miserable blighters ?

Nothing as always because they only look out for themselves and their ilk. It does not matter what ‘insignia’ they wear they’re all the bl**dy same I’m afraid. So don’t waste your time looking to those self serving hypocrites to make you happy, as they will only make you unhappier still……………..they always do:mad:

Many thanks for your kind words Misha and for that link, its frightening the TV memories that its kicked off! This is getting worse now as my partner has just told me that at Christmas time the Anglia bods used to sit in a big armchair in front of a fake fireplace adorned with cards and holly! Forgot to mention that the landlord chipped into our conversation today and said that he had recently been to Germany to visit his daughter and he’s sure they still use the ‘real person’ formula there
