I agree, the best Titan livery was the black and red on the Bae146. I don’t know if thats still about. Sorry Andrew but I don’t like the current one, it looks like a picture of a giant pizza!
I’d be very interested to know if you see the Tu154 because the info that I have is that it should be there.
Fantastic pics Andrew…love the Swiss,Varig and Uzbek. Thanks.

Yeah…..Lucky old us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for the info Dave, I stand corrected.
According to the book “Tupolev-The man and his Aircraft” published by Airlife (an excellent book by the way) the TU154 was Tupolevs first truly non military derived aircraft. It does not say wether any of its on board systems have military ancestry though which may of course be the case as in the “West”.
Mine too Andrew. We have a beautiful Trident at Duxford in the old BEA “red square” livery. A 3 would look nice there rather than being scrapped!
Thanks Ren….will do.
Great pictures……..love the AFL A310/Varig MD11 and Biman DC10
brilliant quality!!
Not sure of the numbers but UPS has a bigger fleet than FedEx. I think in terms of freight movements in Europe its TNT that holds the crown.
I heard a rumour that the LHR Trident is under threat, does anyone know more??
As far as I am aware the prototype Tu154 is located at the Monino museum just outside Moscow. The prototype IL62 was last reported some years ago at the then Ilyushin complex in Kazan in a semi derelict state. The only two Soviet airliners that were directly descended from bomber designs were the Tu104 which was a derivative of the Tu16 Badger and of course the beautiful Tu114 Cleat long range turboprop airliner descended from the Tu95/Tu20 Bear. I guess you could say that the Tu124 and Tu110 designs were again descended from the Tu16 but were “2nd generation designs” from the original. Sorry kabir but the Tu154 has never had a direct military connection and was a “clean sheet” design, although the Tu134 is a modification/evolved version of Tu124 which I suppose loosely ties it to Tu16.
Congratulations man and stunning pics…….more please!
