The Bf 109 in the background is most possible this one:

This 109 was a test plane for the GM-1 system at Rechlin. Possible the Spitfire and the 109 was flying a test fight.

Seen the picture of the two seat Buchon (definitely Buchon) in Flypast several years ago when he was looking to sell some aircraft.

Nice, it will be a puzzle. 🙂 There is no marking in front of the “Balkenkreuz”. But the JG 50 got his numbers between the tail and the Balkenkreuz.

The name “Taifun” for the Bf 108 was given by Elly Beinhorn and the Messerschmitt AG.

Hi Septic,

nice photos of the C.4K-172. It seems that the plane got the dark brown patches for the Whitehall Theatre display.

On the formation flight pic the C.4K-172 is only a “black 4” and not a “black 14”?!

The badly damaged Buchon may well have been the one which got damaged in a landing accident in Jersey when the aircraft behind caught up during a stream landing and removed the tail.

There are 15 superb images in this suite but you have to look for them.

The puzzle for me, on my desktop ‘save as’ it is 62Kb jpg, click on it and I get ‘403 Forbidden’ message. On my laptop however, click on the image and I get a terrific 5.25Mb bmp image for download.

The wonder and mystery of computers. 🙂

I remember this problem, I got the same many years ago (saving ebay pictures). You use the Internet Explorer? When I remember correctly, I have changed my browser to the Mozilla Firefox. This problem, and the security problems of the IE, where solved. 😉
Just try a free alternative browser like Firefox or Opera.
