Thanks for your reply’s,
Deryck i would be very interested in seeing the photos if possible, i was told by someone that it could be some kind of window panel for letting air into the cockpit. which would make your description very similar. Cheers Brad.
Thanks for advice creaking door, never gave it a thought to try that route, will get cracking, if any news will let the forum no Cheers.
Thanks Tim for your reply, always a great shame when the I.D is lost on a particular Aircraft. still a great display of Anson relics i will be posting a part in the next few days as cant I.D. but have managed to identify 80 per cent of around 80 parts. Cheers Brad.
Thanks Tony T for posting that site, great detail of the recovery and above all detailed photos of the aircraft parts and restoration (never seen this site before) often puzzles me with aircraft recovery digs as to why there aren’t more detailed photos of the aircraft parts found i guess there must be a reason.
Do you no of any other sites similar to this one? Cheers

Apparently they wasn’t liked by the pilots when testing as it was near on impossible to fly the aircraft as well as put your eye towards the eyepiece of the gyro sight. thus there wasn’t to many of these sights put into production. but the general idea was going in the right direction, then came along the Mk11 gyro sight….
Many thanks for your reply have you any idea what aircraft this type fitted and for how long (year) cheers.
Would explain no earphones I guess.
One other thing there is a stamp inside as is on most b type helmets (AID B.T.J.) what would this stand for, thanks again for any help given.
