Just to add to add to the above post that it measures approx. 29 inches x 12 inches, also looking at the fuel pipe work I would think these would of possibly been added for extra wing fuel tanks.

    Hi olly_s
Ive been a couple of times now, the last time i went there wasnt any flying as it was to windy they also had to cancel the poppy drop from the Dragon Rapide aircraft for the same reason, they normally allow you to pack within the airfield there are more people than the norm due to the free admission and of course the Remembrance Sunday itself, but i wouldnt let this put you off.
The remembrance itself was held within the aerospace hangar with seating if you get there early and the service is of course very well presented.

I have to say Rocketeer the Battle of Britain hall is sadly missed by many as well, i have to agree with a lot that you have said i also spent many a day there and visited the collection 7 to 8 times a year up until last year, yes there is a lot still there to view but some how for me personally its just dosnt feel the same.

But of course thats my own opinion.

I have to agree with Bruce in regards to artefacts that are never likely to be displayed, for example P/O Maffets Hurricane surely if there is no intention in displaying such relics then surely they could be either donated or lent to other collections, im sure there are many Museums (one in particular) that would gladly display such an iconic aircraft and one that i personally spent many a time viewing with a chill down my spine as this aircraft is such a powerful monument that must go back on display in the very near future.

But maybe P/O Maffets Hurricane is being restored like it has been suggested, but if not then please do the right thing and get this aircraft back into the public’s domain.

Again with a little more researching ive come to the conclusion that photo (A) is indeed from a Tempest V with the back up of the pilots notes from the Tempest V manual.

Would anyone know for sure whether the 3 types of Quadrants that Air Ministry had posted A, B and C were all Typhoon or like Air Ministry says (on post 148) Photo A could well be from a Tempest V, or was this Quadrant (A) also used on Typhoons?

A tough one to decide as there isnt to much to go by on the net maybe someone may have some images of Typhoon and Tempest cockpits showing the answer.

I went to our local cinema at Blue water in Kent, for a Sunday evening there was around 60 in the audience, not to bad for a Sunday as i would of imagined there would of been more attending on the Friday/Saturday.

What was pleasing was the amount of young Polish men and women in the audience, so these cinemas that have shunned the film are possibly missing out on not only a British but also a Polish and of course Czech audience.

    Hi Foray
Well that is pretty impressive well done for finding the panels location, i have to admit i looked at the photo you suggested and time and time again for some reason i couldnt picture it, but then i noticed the two extra fixing holes that were forced apart during the aircraft’s crash itself, also you can see the four nuts and fixing bolts on the images framework, i had looked through he Hawker restorations site but missed this well done once again.

Would you no or anyone else no more about the upward recognition device.

    Hi Anon
Thank you for your input, it was from a Hurricane crash site and was picked up at the former Tangmere aero jumble many years ago.

    Hi Tony
If anyone could nail it it would be yourself, but i know where your coming from in the time schedule hopefully something will come up along soon.

    Hi Worc Aviation
Ive also had trouble posting images but ive found if you keep persevering the images will finally load, sometimes it can take a few days of trying.
    Thanks for trying though.

    Hi Foray
The panel i have is 5 and a half inches probably wider as it has been split in the crash itself.
The radiator faring is a possibility, i will take a look at this avenue.

    Thanks again for your replies.

There are some fantastic photos and Drone footage on the Battle of Britain s Facebook page the link is below.

A fantastic page that keeps you in touch with the Museum and stories from the Battle and as per this thread the Bristol Blenheim project itself.
