The Air Britain Classic Fly-in is taking place over the weekend of 20-21 June. Featured types this year are Austers, Aeroncas, early Cessnas and Beagle aircraft (including the Bulldog). The Auster Club and Beagle Pup & Bulldog Club are both supporting the event.
Our Community Day – Salute to the Few – is on Sunday 12 July. BBMF Hurricane and Spitfire and two Gnats already confirmed to display. Still waiting for confirmation of other aircraft. £5 entry.
The Squadron’s Nostalgair show is on 2 August. Classic aircraft, cars and motorbikes.
Our Hong Kong Bulldog was out on Saturday too.

Sunday 12 April
On Sunday, Our Hunter T7, Fox 1, was out on a couple of sorties too. It made a great contrast to the Skyvan! The sorties included missed approaches on return.

Saturday 11 April
On Saturday the Skyvan Demo Team flew in from Kortrijk in Belgium so that their three pilots could complete practice displays for Display Authorisations on type. Dan Griffith was supervising the displays, which consisted of passes and short field landing and take offs. We had an hour and a half of this aircraft flying round the circuit.
There was a stonking cross wind on their arrival from Belgium

Later in the afternoon the three display sorties commenced

Monday 6 April
Two of the Gnats were out on air tests following winter maintenance. First off was G-TIMM, followed at the end of the day by G-RORI

Saturday 17 January and Sunday 18 January
A different type of Merlin was active on Sunday, powering the Hangar 11 Collection’s P-51D Mustang, Jumpin’ Jaques, which went out to Sywell.

On Sunday, the red Gnat, G-TIMM, did couple of taxi tests to bed in a new brake assembly. It started with low speed runs on the cross runway and finished with high speed ones on the main.

Monday 13 January
The Huey went out on a type rating renewal sortie, departing just before a heavy thunderstorm hit the Airfield.

The Huey is a big helicopter, but an even bigger one visited for a session of circuits later in the afternoon. Commando 534, a Merlin, flew in from RAF Benson. The sun came out too, which was a bonus.

Tuesday 30 December
The Singapore Strikmaster is not out that often, so was a welcome sight on Tuesday when it did a local flight and some circuits.

That’s all for this year, folks! Thanks to everyone who has taken an interest in our Airfield this year, It’s a great place to work.
Monday 29 December
Final couple of entries for 2014. The de Havilland Dragonfly came in again from Biggin Hill on Monday for another visit.

The Hangar 11 Mustang went to Kemble for lunch, then on to Turweston. It returned lated afternoon too.

Two of the Gnats were out too. G-RORI was the first to go.

It returned for some missed approaches before landing.

The red Gnat, G-TIMM went out late afternoon and returned just after sunset.

Sunday 9 November
Sunday was a very busy day with almost 200 movements as people took advantage of the good weather. Our Royal Hong Kong Auxiliary Air Force Bulldog went to Stow Maries.

We also had a visit from the de Havilland Dragonfly G-AEDU, now based at Biggin Hill. A lovely aeroplane!
