My travel why so many liverys

I understand your point with ref to D checks and such like, but if you think back it’s been a heck of a while forn the re-branding from Airtours to My Travel, take Thomas Cook and Britannia, since there new livery most of there fleet has been re-painted. Just makes me thinks that My Travel dont seem in a great hurry to redo there aircraft. Maybe they just cant aford it?.

    Just my 2pence worth

Usually, airlines will wait until planes are due for maintenance before repainting them. That way, they’re already out of circulation.

The most common time for a plane to receive the new livery of its owner is when it goes in for a D check.
This is when the plane is stripped right down to the bone. Paint is stripped off. All furnishing inside are removed. It’s reduce to a shell.
So, when the check is over, its time to paint the aircraft again ready for service. Thats when it would receive the new livery.
D checks are however, far between. Once every 5-7 years I think.

Thus it takes time to repaint a fleet of aircraft.

Mostly what MYT have been doing is removing the Airtours titles of their aircraft over night (as they are merely stickers) and applying the My travel titles, also big stickers.

As for that tech issue you mention… no idea. Matthew?
