Nice one Andy, the BMI close up really is great! Any idea why the Air Transat Bus was at LHR?
Keep up the good work

I would say it was a pretty successful morning at Manchester! You took some really good shots and caught a few rare birds.
Well done

Isn’t that 732 a cracking looking jet! Good shots mate…..is that Cityjets new colours?

Don’t know where it is but I would say it is a crash firefighting simulator for training airport fire teams, like the one at LHR. The building at the bottom of the picture would be the control room which houses the briefing room and controls to operate the flow of gas / avtur to the unit.

Great stuff Stephane nice to see these aircraft on the forum, I am sure I have seen that 767 here at Bristol parked up at Filton Airfield.
Thanks for sharing

Some really great shots, love the up close Thomson 757 landing shot and the last one of the Spanair. The C130, you can actually see the pitch of the prop on the port inboard engine, looks great.

The Irish Learjet….superb!

Great angles, especially the Malaysian 744 and also nice catch with the Saudi MD11.

A very fitting tribute Paul.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I think the turboprop job is a C-2 Greyhound. Of all the shots here my favourite has to be the one of her aboud to tske the wire.
Mike,
Your correct it is the Greyhound; an absolue workhorse for the carrier group. I flew of into Norfolk on s/n 46, what a ride….facing the rear of the aircraft and going off the cat.

Yeah, yeah yeah. . . same pug nose, same two engines.
And because it has no burners it sounds just awesome on the cat shot!
Some lovely shots Robert, love the AFR Jungle jet! and the guy washing the Puma remnids me of my youth when I first joined the Navy, washing Seakings….must admit I still do it with the lads once in a while!!

Brilliant shots there Si. Like the USCG Canadair C-143A Challenger and the US Airways CRJ-200LR:cool: Do you have any idea what the USCG use there C-143A for?
James
No idea James, but I assume that it is used in the liasion or communications roles (a bit like the Royal Navy’s Jetstreams) as I think if it was used in the coastal protection role it would be a little modified with a bigger window and some other pieces of kit like a high intensity radar inder the belly!

very nice shots indeed! i’m a sucker for the nwa livery….757’s seem to be the biggest things going into DCA. i think i am going to take your advice and take a wonder up river to get some banking shots! it has never occured to me before. glad you had a good one in DC…what were you doing? did you like the intense heat?:D
Sam
Hi Sam and thanks for the commenst, I was transiting through from Norfolk VA on my way back to the UK. Flew into DCA the previous evening which was great but did not have my camera in the cabin which I was gutted about as I was on the left side of the aircraft and the views of downtown DC were awesome. You may need a big lens to get the banking shots but it will be worth it. I am editing some soon and will post the as an example.
