Nice shots Si like the fire ones and the 3rd 747 shot looks sad looking there .They have a lot of aircraft down there as you can see they have an F4 Phantom etc (Is it still RAF owned the fire training area? )
btw did you see a British Army Gazelle which visited on the 19 aswel as
G-JSAK R22
G-MKCA B747-200
N355GW C172
N5120 B430
OO-IDE C525
SU-GAS A300-600James
James,
Yes the Phantom is there but is a sorry state and the actual fire training area is owned my the Ministry of Defence Fire Service. They still train RAF Firefighters there alongside there civilian counterparts. The Gazelle landed on the football field to drop off some Army brass for a visit.
Thanks for the positive feedback

Alpha Hotel….I threw up in the jump seat of that monster back in 03 flying over the Bay of Biscay, FL240, 110 Kt winds from the north west, and the mother of all “Clash of the Titans” Towering CU Nims, made for a very “mind focusing” flight, flown by an ex Navy pal of mine….ah happy memories! Great shots Barry.
Si
Absolutley cracking shots Paul…the E195 is my pick of the bunch.
Si
Your right Paul……rubbish, looking forward to seeing some properly editied shots 😉
Si
Cracking shots…love the tight close up!

Colin,
The Bravo turn off shots were taken from inside the airport fence over at the RAF side, however from outside the fence there is a place about 500 meters up the Killead Road on the right hand side heading towards RAF Aldergrove, a gate with a path leading to a the fence which looks straight at Alpha and the end of 25. I have met the Farmer a few times and he is great and will not bother you as long a s you go an introduce yourself as he walks the fields. Sometimes though there a quite a few cows on the path but again as long as you can stand the smell it’s fine! Here is a few shots from that position.

Any snags send me a pm, I am over on the 1st of April to make sure my daughter hasn’t burnt the house down!!!
Si
Very nice indeed. Where was your vantage point?
Hi Jethro, all shots taken from “America’s Hangar” Smithsonian Aerospace Musem car park.

Superb report Adam.

Josh,
Some very nice general images here; what is with the 757 shot, it looks like a ghost image! Not sure about the England shirt….!
