Thanks for the interesting photos; the former Danish Hunter was of particular interest to me, but sad to see the condition it is in.
Everything with wings built in France between WW1 and WW2 – and the Panavia Tornado….. 😀

There’s a T-6 in Germany today with the registration D-FUKK and an Antonov An-2 registered D-FUKM….. 😀 Honi soit qui mal y pense!
Great shots; like those black hangars with the spotlights!
Great pics, thanks for sharing them with us on the other side of the Atlantic 🙂
This thread is rather sad, what with all those pics of damaged a/c.
I think I read that the Du Cros replica has been acquired by the Spitifre Society (correct name?) and will be used as travelling, static exhibit, painted in brown/green camouflage.
It’s in an upright position like the RR Merlin
The Messerschmitt Foundation already has two flyable Bf109 which are both based on Hispano’s, so it is possible to convert them to a DB605. I posted some pics of them a while ago. Quite a few Hispanos have been converted for museums, and this one is (was) a particularly rare Ha 1109 with a Hispano engine. and not the usual Ha1112 with a RR Merlin. It was displayed for many years in the open at Augsburg, was then restored, and then converted to Bf109G-2 standard.
Is it this one? This is a static Bf109G-2 converted from a Hispano which the Messerschmitt Foundation and EADS lugs around and displays at airshows.
Tried cleaning the contact points on the body where the electrical connections between the body and the lens are established? Just a guess… Seems to be quite a few problems with this camera unfortunately, what with some Canon lenses needing adjustments to be used with it and dust in the camera? I wonder whether they are nowadays putting new cameras on the market before they have been sufficiently tested (i.e. like German car manufacturers do with their cars…. 😀 )
I am also considering going to Eggebeck and Bielefeld
Have never been to either of them – suppose a lot of your countrymen are going to the former… 😀 You are probably aware that you can read everything you want to know about the former event in the German Flugzeugforum ?
Thanks for the praise TallyHo and Roger!
Yes, I intend to be at the Hahnweide. It has however some disadvantages for photographers:
1) The spectators’ area is on the northern side of an essentially east/west extending rwy, so you have the sun against you.
2) Aircraft are usually parked tight along the entire crowd line, so static photos and shooting taxying a/c succesfully is not easy and requires some luck. I’ve never tried it but could be worthwhile having a walk around the airfield perimeter to get a better location. There’s a nice backdrop to the east with a hill with a castle on top of it. Have a look at airliners.net, the photos there give you a reasonable impression of the conditions.
3) If the weather is nice the spectators area can be quite packed (space is generally at a premium on the Hahnweide).
Let me know if you go, maybe we could meet up!
Definitely belongs in the other forum, but before it’s moved let me add that IL86’s are also regulars in Munich/Germany.
What kind of scanner did you use and what do you want to use the scans for? It should be possible to get decent results on any reasonably new flatbed scanner. The pics in this thread are all scanned at a resolution of 1200dpi and 100% zoom factor on an Epson 1650 Perfection flatbed scanner with a slide/negative holder(except the two of the Draken formations). Did you use the “unsharpen mask” filter (USM) in a photo editing software on the afterwards? Try the following settings: intensity/strength 220%, Radius 2, Threshold 10 (play around a bit with these values until the result suits you). If you want to post them here, then resize the pic before applying USM. You won’t get any good results without the use of this filter.
