Rumours made public, then denied then proved groundless, then a new rumour…why the h*** don’t we wait, keep checking the TFC, until we all know what will be there and what will not??:diablo: After all it’s not long now!:D
wot he sed!!
Always worked for me in the past. There’s usually an ‘official’ list on the IWM site a week to 10 days before as well.
Cheers (and looking forward to another classic legends)

Does that mean that they will be ‘roaded’ out to they’re eventual resting places, rather than flown out?
I understood (from rumurs a while back) that one was heading for Duxford and the other to East Midlands Aeropark, both of which were viable for delivery by air, I would have thought.
(if a B52 can get in to DX then surely a Nimrod can???).
Cheers

While I understand the theory of it being seen from the air, I have to wonder how many airline passengers will just look down and see ‘scrap airplanes in a circle’.
It’s a nice idea (while not counting as art in my book) and if it raises awareness of the BCATP then it has to be a good thing. But will it?
Despite my initial reaction (which was ‘what a waste’ of Ansons) I have to admit that the airframes are no worse off here than they would be if they were left in a storage compound to rot. So no harm done really.
Look on the bright side, it could have been worse………
…..it could have been Mosquitos!!!!!!!!
Well, the wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it (having both previously read the book).
Who better to tell the story than somebody who was actually there. No one can argue with that.
A remarkable job, especially given the budget.
This was a suitable tribute and captured the mood perfectly.
DVD?

Auster 5 G-ALBJ and Tipsy Belfair G-APIE overhead Weston, Spalding heading roughly South at 17:55.
Nice combination!!

What a shame, but unsurprising in the current financial climate 🙁
That just leaves one, well this side of the pond anyway. The only bright side is that the aircrafts future is secure, and I guess it’s possible that Sally’s spares situation may improve???

Beech 18 (C45) heading North-Northeast over Peterborough at 13:37 today (Thursday).
Hopefully the Wittering Harrier that went the other way was aware of it!!

Cessna Bird Dog (G-PDOG by the colour) seen over Weston / Spalding at 16:53 heading North-ish on Sunday 7th March.
Not a common type in UK skies and a nice change from the usual Cessna overflights!!

Just to prove I haven’t moved yet….
ML407 noted on Sunday 25th at 11:28 enjoying aero’s over Ipswich, then heading South/SouthEast at 11.40 appx almost over what is currently still my garden.
Great to see her again:)
Cheers

Mustang plus 1 other heading Southwest over Ipswich at 15:04 yesterday (Sunday).
Mustang looked at a distance like G-HAEC. The ‘other’ looked to have a yellow or light coloured nose, and peeled away to the Northwest as they approached town centre.
Sounded great, but what was the ‘other’?
Thanks in advance

I don’t think anyone is suggesting that he not attend, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge. He should just learn the value of silence at the appropriate time. It’s similar to being a sports commentator. Saying nothing at the right time and letting the scene tell it’s own tale is a skill that all the best commentators have.
This perfectly sums up the commentary situation for me.
Apart from that the show was excellent, really first class. Especially when you consider what was locked in the TFC hangar (for whatever reason).
Here’s to next year

FYI
The BBMF website is currently showing a Dakota flypast for Saturday 11th.
The Blades webiste is saying they are booked to display there on the 11th.
The Vulcan website doesn’t mention Wattisham as it only has Lasham and Yeovilton for the 11th.

How does the situation with the much loved and flown in the UK new build Vimy with it’s car engines compare to the very nice Flugwerk 190’s?
Isn’t the Vimy still on a US experimental ticket as NX71MY? That would put it in the same league as Miss Velma and the new Sea Fury as far as displaying this weekend goes.
I don’t know why the Flugwerk 190 couldn’t also be put on the US experimental register as the ‘owner’ is nominally US based.
I think:confused:

Great stuff. Well done to everyone for getting her back in Duxford skies after all these years. Really takes you back seeing this. Looks terrific and sounds great too:):):)

Yes that’s the definition I got out of it too. But then again, they do include those planes they have a permit to fly.
No they haven’t, the Spit XIV, FG1D Corsair and Nimrod at least all have current permits (according to G-INFO last night). The Nimrod on the list is the HAC one.
Looking good, very good:)
