This trip was pretty good…
Reno 2004, with Stew Dawson, Nelson Ezell and Howard Pardue. Three Sea Furies and a Bearcat. It’s always fun flying over the Southwest US. This shot is the four of us forming up for the break to land over Gallup, New Mexico.

Robert Hampton Gray, VC DSC RCNVR
Please note the spelling of GRAY not GREY
Sub Lieutenant would be appropriate if he were still serving, which obviously he is not but I do not think you can apply the rank as RTD (Retired) under a lower rank.
Would it not be appropriate to list his rank as well, especially considering that he was KIA and not retired?
Where?
Sorry…K I N G D O M
Why do they have to put the letters so close together on the keyboard??? 😀
Steve
Seems Mr. Jones has retired for the evening…
Don’t go to any trouble, but I do like a nice single malt scotch. Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Oban…of course a vodka martini can be very nice…
After seeing the schedule that you have planned for us I don’t think there will be any time for cocktails!
If the D-Day Invasion were reported by today’s media:
…most people would miss the news, as they would be watching sports or some other mindless television show…
While you’re changing settings, 182man, you might want to look at your birthdate. Being born in 1992 would make you rather young to be a licensed pilot
Birthday:
5th July 1992
Well, I used to have…
Just stocked up here Reds and Whites – What whiskey?
Beer is my choice but it will be good.
John
Sounds like a good test for Bridget.
Jones? I say, are you with us Jones???
It comes after, in a decending order based on the level of award. I might suggest you consult a reference, such as “The Standard Catalogue of British Orders, Decorations and Medals” by E.C. Joslin.
For Instance…Wing Commander Robert Standord Tuck, D.S.O., D.F.C. and two bars.
If only we had some people from the United Kingdon on this forum…alas
Yeah, Patty has an impressive collection of fine wine, Beer and Whisky…
Well, I used to have…

BABY!!!
Look, it’s Mini-Me!!!!

The Sea Fury panel was originally restored non-standard, and I’m just trying to update it without taking the plane down for the entire season. While we’re on the subject thought I see nothing wrong with modern avionics in any warbird. Most B-17s and the CAF B-29 have modern panels, or variations on them. Modern navigations and communications equipment is a smart move to help safely operate these aircraft over long distances.
The T-6 panel is much more authentic, and still has the old style AI and gyro compass. It has a small GPS installed, as well as modern comm/nav radios, but they’re pretty unobtrusive. It also has the original gun sight.
The Sea Fury will go through a major refit, when the panel will probably go back to a much closer version of the original, but with modern radios. I just don’t want to take her down for a year or two to do it right now.
Here’s a shot of the T-6 panel

A most excellent video. Mrs. P also greatly enjoyed it. Thanks
… Who knows, I might even get to LordoftheRingsLand one day…

Oh sorry, I forgot your not British you just spend 48 weeks a year here.

Must have been sleeping that day in Western Civ class
There are plenty of experts on the forum. And as my mechanic is so fond of telling me, “an expert is just a regular guy who’s at least 400 miles from home”
You can’t please everyone, but I feel the vast majority truly appreciate the effort, expense and love that goes into restoring and maintaining a vintage aircraft.
