Re: Pakistan Army Aviation
The 1st photo has the Y-12 in the background. The bird in the foreground is an Aero Commander.

The USA cannot continue to be the major military power without also being the major economic power. The bottem line remains – hardworking American taxpayers carry the burden of the cost of policing this sorry world. And the Pentagon just flushed 44,000 of them.
Mike44
Unbelievable, the US economy is sliding into recession and the IDIOTS at the Pentagon flush 44,000 jobs down the drain by giving the contract to the DAMN French!

Don’t know about the Alo III in Soviet use, but that concrete runway is classic Soviet design. So it looks to me that the photo was, indeed, taken in the USSR. Whether it was photographed before or after the USSR collapse is unknown.

Kenyan AF Pics

Great shots, but that’s not a DHC-4 Caribou, it’s a DHC-5 Buffalo. Note the turboprops and T-tail.

Zimbabwean MiG-23
Banshee:
I don’t think the Zimbabwean MiG-23 shown is at Harare. The background shows houses on a hillside and all the photos of Harare Airport I’ve aver seen show it to be on a plateau with open space around it.

Nicaraguan AF H-34
googeler:
I assume Aircraft Slides identified the Nicaraguan AF H-34 as such, but even at this bad angle the nose profile looks like a S-58T turbine conversion.

Avient, Ltd., has been linked to some Titled Brit, it’s aircraft fly under Zimbabwean registry.

Cessna 337 of Cuba?? The nation of Cuba?? Are you sure?

Re: Warthog availability, Boeing just won a contract to build and install new wings on 200 or 250 A-10s.

TIA, I agree, but don’t lay all the blame on the poor bloke doing the actual painting. Uniformity of paint schemes requires at least some level of support staff with at least layouts, measurements and sketches, if not manuals of instruction. TIA, and many African air forces don’t have much an organization to attend to such details.

Following your logic, that must have been a really tough airline – UB 201 is an armed Percival Provost trainer. I think you will find the aircraft in question date from the old days when the country was the Union of Burma, and the aircraft belong to the Union of Burma Air Force.

The first photo is An-12, not An-24.

Update:
First flight was with two of the eight engines burning the alternative fuel mix. The test Buff just flew with all eight engines powered with the alternative fuel mix.

You’ve missed the main political point; the US Navy doesn’t WANT mini- carriers with STOVL fighters. They are totally committed to Super Carriers with CTOL aircraft.
