    The part that seems the most infeasible to me is the timeline. induction in 2020 for an aircraft whose design might just have been finalised is optimistic to say the least ?

    2012 Will be when all the tech in finalized actually. After that its actually designing the bird and making prototypes to test. 2018 Will be when the final design will start to be made at factorys slowly and 2020 is when we induct the bird and start flying it.

    2012 is going to be when we know what will be inside as we get ToT after that its going to be a ambitious development process where we really get to know her.

    But the Turks are a lot less keen on co-operation with Israel than they used to be, so the Elta connection may be a problem.

    Its more software. LIG Nex1 can make the hardware. But hopefully KF-X is flexible enough that the turks can avoid Israeli tech.

    And if they really want a TF-X they can really only partner with us or maybe F-3 of Japan. Can’t see europe or america and the middle east has no tech.

    For me it’s not a question of believing so much as wondering…

    … is the political will there to see it through?
    … can Korea secure favourable/non-restrictive terms re: development assistance and supply of parts (read: engines) from foreign partners or looking at a repeat of the radar fiasco with FA-50?
    … internal bays or no?

    With any luck it’ll end up being everything JSF should’ve been and operated by Indonesia in numbers the RAAF could only dream of. :rolleyes:

    If there are no major complications there would be no problem if the military asked for more money.

    Hopefuly we accept eurojets 60% ToT EJ200 (KJ200?) deal and we continue with Elta with AESA development.
    Still wondering if we can do the rest while buying F-35s with no major ToT.

    I am hoping maybe Korea goes with missile bays on the wings. 2x IR Missiles in small bays on the outside. 2x Active Radar BVR in the middle and 4x BVR on the inside. Then maybe CFT/CWB with 4x BVR and a single center bay for some bombs.

    And having turkey will help. Hopefully their feasibility study turns out to say join KF-X.
