    thanks, i’ve a nikon D80,and the slow autofocus of the nikkor doesnt sound all that appealing.

    Shannon sees on average about 3 DC-10’s a day from omni air on american military charters,shannon has a half decent observation area,through glass but usually clean enough,as for the UK i believe stansted has a few fedex MD-11 flights a week or day

    ah i see,i cant pass those colour tests with the pattern of dots,but for example during college i use different colour electroinc resistors,without any problem,but hey these things happen!

    Hong kong to london non stop in an A330-300 is also highly ambitious,i remember hearing years ago that bmi had slots from LHR to HKG,but would require A340’s as even the longer range A332(V. A333) that bmi have couldnt fly the route?

    Not sure if an A333 has the legs to do malaysia to London non-stop,perhaps a stop in dubai on one of the legs will be needed?

    It’s unavoidable that a major new aircraft doesn’t face some sort of delay,it will remain to be seen if boeing have given themselves enough buffer so that first deliveries aren’t delayed,and that a few told-ye-so’s from a certain other aircraft manufacturer don’t come across the atlantic:p

    I was spotting/photo-ing from 27R on the 21st of july,due to the rain i actually stood at the bus stop,along with a fair few other spotters,in between showers they drifted around near the huts,and didn’t have a proble,the odd police range rover drove past,didn’t say a thing,whether this was just because it was raining & they didn’t want to get wet!! i dont know:D

    Yes 72euro return i couldn’t believe it either!,my trusty rain jacket will come in handy i think:D ,and the situation if using 9’s i understand,i don’t mind walking either:rolleyes:

    Thanks adam for the help,i’m hoping the weather won’t affect my trip too much,as the forecast at this time isn’t great,i am staying in the renaisaance hotel,might as well take advantage of the fact they offer spotter deals:(,flying from dub on friday morning & going back sat evening,bmi have very good fares i must say compared to aer lingus,72 euros versus 160!!! 😮

    Yes i know that the 27’s alternate for landings at 3pm,and that there’s a wider loop to walk, from google earth though i can’t make out any footpaths:rolleyes:

    Try using aperture priority mode,set the F number to f8 & if necessary adjust exposure with the +/-ev step
