Well my money is on the rebels shooting it down.
If you were putting money on the flight arriving safely that day at the betting shop, do you think the odds would have gone up or down after Ukrainian ATC diverted it to fly between Donetsk and Lugansk?
Yes I have seen that so it should be easy for the poster, journalists etc, to take images of the location and match them exactly with the location in the video. Anyone can make such a claim but it needs to be confirmed with photographic proof otherwise it just ends up as yet another counter claim. I checked on the google maps but that area is not covered by ground images.
Well, this is the problem because it’s really just a claim in the first case. It’s a blog, not an official news channel. There is no proof of time or location. For all anyone knows that video was shot 2 years ago after a military exercise, or it’s a Ukrainian battery.
This is an example of some people naively falling for the claims of the crazy die-hard conspiracy theorists and their You Tube compilations. The reality is that the day behind time stamp error is due to the YouTube encoding servers being behind by 1 day at that time.
Seems to me that it’s more a case of YouTube adopting retarded time stamping policies and people making what would otherwise be logical judgements, were it not for YouTube’s idiocy.
Hardly burying news about Gaza and the plight of it citizens, to suggest that the MH17 shoot down is associated with burying news about Gaza is paranoid and disgusting! To suggest that the authorities in Washington or Tel Aviv would be celebrating the loss of MH17 beggars belief it is so disgustingly offensive.
No but then European governments aren’t exactly in favour of what Israel does in Gaza, they just live with it because of the US.
Whilst the BBC has covered Gaza pretty well, Eastern Ukrainian deaths have received scant coverage with plenty of time wasted, especially on the Ch4 News, discussing completely superficial bull****.
On Thursday, when a Malaysian Airlines plane was apparently shot down over Ukraine, a Ukrainian Buk anti-aircraft missile battery was operational in the region, the Russian Defense Ministry said, contradicting Kiev’s statements.
The battery was deployed at a site from which it could have fired a missile at the airliner, the ministry said in a statement. It said radiation from the battery’s radar was detected by the Russian military.
“The Russian equipment detected throughout July 17 the activity of a Kupol radar, deployed as part of a Buk-M1 battery near Styla [a village some 30km south of Donetsk],” the ministry said in a statement.

Around 1,500 T/R modules according to the video mentioned above.
When it discusses the FOR in that video, they mention 200deg but also show a figure of 160deg for fixed FOR. Has that 160deg been miscalculated by subtracting 40deg from 200deg? To my knowledge the Captor-E is is the normal +/-60deg FOR plus the +/-40deg flexible mount, giving 200deg (+/-100deg). +/-80deg (160deg) would be unusual.
I personally think Ukrainian ATC set this airliner up to fail looking at the map. In the absence of a MALD, they used a 777 and told it to fly very close to an airport that was being fought over, where paras had previously landed.
In that respect, it doesn’t matter who actually fired the missile.
MH17 was directed 300 miles North on a course that bisected the line between Donetsk and Lugansk. Anyone know exactly where the An-26 came down?

Stop apologizing for Putin murderer.
Silly girl.

So was that the one that shot down the An-26 or the 777? Time and date is very important. Time legitimate? Location legimate?
Did it have 4 missiles in the first place?
It is a blog spot, not official news.
The Ukrainians have released some camera footage of a Buk with a partial missile load supposedly being driven towards the Russian border in the aftermath of the incident, but its veracity is still unconfirmed.
Where?
Take a look at the following picture.. could that huge hole punched into the structure be compelling evidence of a missile hit?
Looks like a smaller missile if it was. 70kg HE (Buk) would surely make a larger hole. I mean some anti-ship missiles, like MARTE, only have 70kg warheads.
You would have to ask, how the hell can anyone possibly know that a Buk shot it down? They don’t even know who fired it yet. Almost as soon as ‘SAM’ was heard, ‘Buk’ was heard too.
This is what a 74kg warhead does (1:08):
A morbid point to consider but it would depend I suppose, at cruise altitude it would certainly take out the engine but the aircraft might shrug it off. Hit a fuel tank? Well I am not an expert, maybe a PM to BIGVERN1966 would give an answer. He worked on the Bloodhound surface to air missile system back in the day and appears to know his stuff on such matters. I remember seeing a video of a DHL A300 getting hit by a manpad in Iraq and the aircraft landed, the missile hit the outer wing rather then the engine and drained the hydraulics. Looking at this video it was only a matter of a meter either way and the aircraft would of blown up so yeah an R-73 in the right spot could do it.
If you hit the fuselage in front on the tail plane, that would likely do it. Snap, flip and down. Morbid thought.
Putin owns this crisis. ALOT of blood on his Facist hands.
Oh sure. It was Putin who forced Ukraine to decide between EU and Russian trade. It was Putin who shot people with hunting rifle bullets in the February protests. It was Putin who removed Russian and Greek as official languages following the takeover and Putin who killed twice as many civilians in Eastern Ukraine as were on this plane. Does it not strike you as massively odd the amount of support the new bunch got straight away before there was even an election, how the richest person in Ukraine became president, how western media coverage of deaths in Eastern Ukraine has been negligible?
If you really don’t have a clue about the world, just stick to aviation.
Possibly the fastest accelerating missile ever.
Or not.

The KITE achieved an acceleration of over 200 G immediately after launch.
