    I think I am right in saying that their pilots dont wear hats or ties. They dont even wear white shirts. They look like they work in Burger King. Im pretty sure its Australian who dont have a good uniform anyway!

    I have already talked about the issues with Ryanair aircraft. You claim there are no shortcuts taken, yet I have seen with my own eyes evidence of poor maintenence. There IS a difference between cheap and expensive maintenence. I am not claiming that every Ryanair flight is unsafe, but if you know so much about Ryanair then you will know what im talking about. Having seen the “lets do it next week” attitude in action I will never agree that Ryanair have high standards of maintenence. I was shocked when I saw what I saw, and it isnt just me who thinks their maintenence can be a bit iffy at times.

    Maybe they should have a look at Ryanairs safety, will make BA’s safety look impeccable.

    As far as I can remember, the people onboard aircraft involved in Sept 11 didnt realise what was going on (apart from the one where the passengers fought back). There have been several hijackings where the terrorists havent blown up the aircraft/have not killed anyone. The problem is you really dont know what to do, or what they are going to do. Im sure many of us here would say we would stand up and fight them, the problem is many of us actually in that situation wouldn’t be able to stand up and fight. We havent been in that situation. If the attempt to disarm/kill the hijackers is organised then yes I think I would be willing to fight considering I am male and relatively fit. But how do you know there arent SkyMarshalls onboard? They could be preparing to attack. Much safer to have them attack than have pax attempt anything.

    Sad if the man was mentally ill, but just like the innocent Brazillian shot in London it is by no means a reason to relax again.

    I seriously doubt it would work. The reason other it works in other European countries is because they are brought up differently. I work in a bar and im dreading it. We will be staying open 2 hours later than we used too. We have enough problems with drunks on the old “kick out” time. Now there will be even more of them. Thanks Labour, really appreciate it.

    Sorry, but I think you guys may be mistaken. I have been under the impression that Britain most certainly is an armed society (well, at least it is a huge problem). Go to Nottingham and read their local papers. Gun fights are frequently occuring. Relatives of mine live there, and they tell me that it is so out of hand now that they want to move. Apparently Nottingham introduced its own police helicopter purely because of gun fights.
