I still do not understand what you don’t quite grasp about my reasons for not choosing low cost airlines over others. But I have explained it many times in many posts (and not just on this topic). I live just a few miles from Heathrow and the few experiences I have had with low cost airlines anyway, have been bad ones. So quite simply, I’m not going to travel miles further than I have to (incurring extra cost) to travel with an airline that I’ve probably tried already and not liked. The extra money spent on getting to another airline could quite easily be spent on upgrading to an airline from Heathrow (much closer to home). I’m also quite sure that I would enjoy this flight, too.

I’m sure that when the day comes that I have a bad flight with British Airways, I’ll stop using them. But so far, unlike other airlines, they always surprise me with their outstanding service every time I get to the airport, every time I board a flight and every time I disembark. Running to get the best seat isn’t my cup of tea and there is no fun in that (not for me, anyway).

I respect your opinions and everyone elses. All I ask is that you respect mine.

BA is generally used by the bigger businessmen whose companies can afford business class, and by the wealthier members of the public who demand more.

Thats ridiculous. Are you suggesting that the majority of passengers travelling with British Airways are business men? Also, I don’t think British Airways is only for wealthy people. Their fares aren’t the cheapest around, but they are still generally good value and affordable to most who choose to travel by air.

I’ve used British Airways many times now on short haul and domestic flights. I’ve had the option to fly with the likes of Jet2, easyJet, Ryanair, Wizzair and others, but I feel that the service offered on the ground and in the air is decent and worth every last penny of the fare.

If I can fly British Airways and pay something crazy like £10 more than a low cost airline, I’m obviously going to choose them. Where’s the fun in flying if you’re going to fly with grotty little airlines?

(And don’t anybody pick me up for saying that, not after the rubbish some of these people have come out with. British Airways is for snobs? I don’t think so.)

The vast majority of people just want to get from A to B and dont really want to be served a plate of fish crap.

And then there’s the minority who want that little bit of fish crap and a smile from the people who are looking after them en-route to their chosen destination. And it seems that by catering for this minority, British Airways are doing rather well for themself, better than a lot of their ‘rivals’, if you can call them that.

Anyhow, when did you last fly with the airline? Its strange how I’ve never been served the same meals that you have. I’ve never had fish crap as you call it. Instead, its been a classy little snack – none of which have contained any fish.

Let’s hope British Airways doesn’t ruin itself anytime soon by doing what Aer Lingus done. Doing away with inflight service and employing the most miserable flight attendants ever. Certainly not a pleasant experience.

I doubt BA will worry too much; they clearly aren’t interested in developing services from Manchester as they can concentrate on fortress Heathrow.
