    Newquay? Seems to be a rather up and coming airport. Ryanair also operate flights from here don’t they?

    What other airlines use Newquay? Air Southwest?

    Not a bad idea. The only option at the moment from Gatwick is British Airways, so this is likely to be a cheaper alternative.

    Have a great trip.

    It’s been a while since I flew on their A330 (G-MLJL I believe), more than 3 years ago, but the inflight entertainment and two external cameras were pretty impressive, especially for takeoff and landing. As long as you can put up with the usual below-average legroom, then you’ll love it.

    As for the Dominican Republic, that’s also great. I’ve been three times now. Where are you staying?

    I meant to say that the image was random in the way that it had been placed onto the aircraft. It doesn’t seem to work where it is.

    Someone help me out though. Is this a fictional paint or the actual new colours for EgyptAir? :confused:

    Don’t like it.

    The typeface for the EgyptAir titles is boring and that random image towards the front of the aircraft is random.

    My last and probably the only tri-jet experience I can remember is the JMC DC-10s back in August 2000 on a long-haul flight to the Dominican Republic and back. I flew on G-GKOT outbound and G-LYON inbound.

    Both aircraft were very tatty inside and were really showing signs of their age. Video equipment was terrible, seats were broken (one of ours was stuck in the recline position) and the air conditioning in the overhead panels leaked an awful lot onto the passengers below.

    Hated the experience. To trade in the DC-10s for A330s is the best decision JMC made! 😎

    Give him a break and lets see what happens.

    You seem fairly new to the forum and might not be able to understand those members who are becoming more and more sceptical about whether alpha1 is going to take to the skies or not.

    This is a forum to talk about the world of civil aviation. We can’t be expected to avoid talking about subjects or to talk highly of things that we maybe don’t believe in.

    Someone like me is just happy to sit back and wait for this to happen – I’m sure it will, but others aren’t so convinced and if you search for other various alpha1 topics, I’m sure you’ll begin to understand why.

    But I for one am certainly not saying this business is going to fail – who am I to say such a thing anyway? I wish Martin the best of luck through this slightly turbulent time.
