Great photos, Grey Area. Although the weather was getting worse as the day progressed, the reflections of the aircraft on the wet tar-mac are brilliant.

And with regard to nipping off to the loo and missing the action, I went into the bushes at Myrtle Avenue once. I didn’t seem to think I was going to miss much. Every arriving aircraft was British Airways or bmi, so I went for a pee. Unfortunately, whilst I was gone, I missed the first Aeroflot A321 flight into Heathrow! 😮

Just one new model for me and its the first for a while. Having been away for a whole month and not working, my finances were not the best they’ve been for a while.

Today I got this Gemini Jets/Schuco Lufthansa 747-400 in the Star Alliance colour scheme. The aircraft is registered D-ABTH and at just £9.99 on eBay, I think I got real value for money. It’s a really solid model and the detail on it is great. I’ve also photographed it alongside HS-TGW, another Star Alliance 747 of Thai Airways International.

G-DIMB is the Monarch B763, and it’s Teesside (or DurhamTeesValley) not Tees-side 🙂

    Looks great.

I’ve been on G-DIMB, formerly an Airtours/MyTravel aircraft.

Excellent shots you’ve got there. I really like the bmi A321 which I flew on last year (G-MIDJ from GLA to LHR in July). And surprisingly, that’s the first time I’ve seen the bmi ATR 42 and it looks pretty good! 🙂

Thanks. I’ll upload some and see what happens.

    I have a Fuji S3000.

I am amazed by both batches of photographs that you’ve uploaded. The quality of all of them is superb and you’ve got such a mixed bunch of aircraft and airlines, too.

I’ve just bought a Fuji S5000-and-something and I will be really impressed if my results are half as good as those.

    Well done! 🙂

Excellent photos, especially the Ryanair one with ‘Say No to BA’s Fuel Levy’.

It was indeed a great day. I was standing out this afternoon trying to put my new 10x optical zoom to the test on traffic approaching Heathrow. It was slightly hazy, so after taking two shots of an Aer Lingus A321 and an Alitalia A320… I gave up

    Excellent decision.

There’s nothing I hate more than an airline which isn’t a low cost but insists on offering inflight service similar to Ryanair and easyJet. Paying over the odds for food and drinks isn’t fair when you look at how much you have to spend on an air ticket with the airline.

Regardless of the length of a flight, I think all passengers on any airline (apart from low costs, of course) should be offered at least a complimentary drink.

That’s fantastic! How high above you were they, 2000ft?

1,000ft… it says in the original post

Right, the same newspaper is now reporting that the end to the service is not a permanent move. Phuket Air have now announced that it is only temporary and for ‘maintenance’ reasons. Services are expected to resume on 31 October. After the recent incident at Sharjah, I think this is a wise move!

As for more services at Amsterdam, it doesn’t look like there are any extra flights planned.

    P.S. Hello A330Crazy 🙂
