Always nice to see a not so common airport and the traffic it gets.

    Top notch shots, Humberside 😀

After Paris in June, I’m definitely going to pay a flying visit to Manchester and Amsterdam this year. Photos from Manchester, these included, are always of a very high standard and it looks like there is little in between the camera and the subject that can spoil any shots.

Very nice selection. That Thomson 757 nose-cone is… interesting! 🙂

    Excellent shots.

I don’t know who the Islandsflug is operating flights for – still Ryanair? I have flown on that aircraft and awarded it “grottiest aircraft” award. Disgusting little thing.

I take it the airline still flies to Dubai? If so, then this is their only longer haul route, or more appropriately, medium haul. I think they are really going to struggle offering domestic flights within Thailand and to local cities within Asia.

First London Gatwick and now Amsterdam. They had such huge plans for Amsterdam, too. Surely, this has the potential to finish Phuket Air.

They are not brilliant, but at least you’ve given it a try.

Just out of curiosity, is that third image (the 747) Thai Airways?

And a little cheaper than when I bought it from Andrew at our GLA meet last June. It’s a nice model isn’t it ? 😀

It certainly is. The pair of my Star Alliance models look great next to one another, but one is considerably better than the other in the way that it is built. There is a very noticeable difference between the weight of each of them. The Lufthansa 744 is extremely good quality – typical of Gemini Jets I guess.

I’m also starting to show more interest in 1/200 scale models at the moment and am going to be ordering two 1/200 EVA Air models tomorrow; one in the old colours and one in the new colours. They’re both going to be 747-400s, so on that scale, they’re going to be huge. I’ve also won a Star Jet Swiss A319 on eBay for just £2.49 – an absolute bargain!

7 hours time diff I think.

Bangkok is GMT +7, so it can’t be that far ahead.

Great photos, Grey Area. Although the weather was getting worse as the day progressed, the reflections of the aircraft on the wet tar-mac are brilliant.

And with regard to nipping off to the loo and missing the action, I went into the bushes at Myrtle Avenue once. I didn’t seem to think I was going to miss much. Every arriving aircraft was British Airways or bmi, so I went for a pee. Unfortunately, whilst I was gone, I missed the first Aeroflot A321 flight into Heathrow! 😮
