I don’t know if I’d ever want to set foot on a Sovet-built aircraft.

But something I would like to fly… hmm.. I’ve never flown on a Prop, so a Dash 8, Saab 340/2000 or DHC-6 would be nice! 😀

I saw the nasty blue one at London Gatwick on Tuesday morning – wasn’t too keen on it. This one is a slight improvement.

I’d build an airport on the nature reserve just up the road. We’re about 20 miles from Heathrow, so it could be London-Reading International Airport, using a single 12,000ft runway and having two terminals; one for domestic departures/arrivals and the other for international departures/arrivals.

    Terminal 1 – Domestic Flights

    British Airways (Glasgow and Edinburgh)
    Aurigny (to the Channel Islands)
Ryanair (to Prestwick, Liverpool and Dublin)
    bmi (to Manchester)

    Terminal 2 – International Flights

    British Airways (European services)
    Emirates (to Dubai)
    Air France (to Paris)
bmi (European and long haul services)
    KLM (to Amsterdam)
    Iberia (to Barcelona and Madrid)
    Alitalia (to Milan)
    Swiss (to Geneva)
    Lufthansa (to Munich and Frankfurt)

MyTravel Airways (short haul flights only)
Britannia Airways TUI (short haul flights only)
Monarch Airlines (short haul flights and Orlando Sanford)

Excellent photo, but do you think it’s real?

Nice report. I wouldn’t worry about missing the Ryanair flight, you weren’t missing much! 😀

The closest I can find is the photograph below. I’m not on it this time, but was on it when it departed a couple of hours later.

It has up to 6x optical zoom. The most zoom you can get on the maximum 3.24 megapixel setting is 3x. With static stuff like the Ryanair Kilkenny logo-jet, I’ve just changed the quality setting to 2mp, therefore giving me more zoom. But if you look, you’ll see the quality on the Ryanair one is not so good.

Could you not delay it a week? 😀 I’d really love to come along, but my holiday doesn’t finish until 16 April!

We nicked 2. Both in appauling condition I might add. Andy even remained on the aircraft so nobody would seem him stuffing an in-flight magazine into his bag! 😀

Great report and photos though, your flight sounds slightly better than ours was. But for £29 return, I shouldn’t complain!

Most of them need to be tweaked in Photoshop because the white is too bright, so I’ll try and sort something out and post a few more later. Just so you can see how far we were away from the action, there was a small road between us and the airfield. Not in this shot the Aer Lingus (EI-JFK?) getting ready for departure.
