I don’t recall it being your idea. I think A330Crazy, Ren Frew and myself should take all credit for organising what turned out to be a very successful meet, and enjoyable too! We took action aftermany made suggestions to have a meet, but nobody took any steps to ensure one was organised.
But anyway, was a great day, excellent weather (if not a little chilly!), great bunch of guys to be with, excellent location, nice choice of aircraft and an ok-ish flight! Have just got home now at about 10.50pm after landing at Gatwick at 8.20pm, so not best pleased!

The Islandsflug 737-400 flight was awful and the Ryanair crew appeared (in my opinion) quite scruffy and disorganised. Due to a “discrepancy at check-in” on departure from Gatwick, we were late departing by 10-15 minutes. Fortunately, the time was made up. Andy and I were assigned boarding numbers 12 and the very lucky number 13! Returning was numbers 10 and 11. We allowed 2 hours to check-in on both legs.
Cabin was filthy. Empty bottles in seatback pockets, muck under the seats – just generally very dirty. It’s apparent that they don’t bother to get people to come on clean the aircraft after every one or two trips. As Andy said, we were both hoping for a Boeing 737-200 of Ryanair, but as we sat in the viewing gallery in Gatwick departures, we saw TF-ELV landing and cringed!
For £29 return, you can’t grumble, but I’m not completely satisfied with the experience. Problems started when we were instructed to check in at one zone and it turned out it was actually another!
AND.. £2 for a Kit Kat and a 150ml can of Coke is not good value. They are making about a 120% profit (at least)!
