A nice Thai photograph, but I wasn’t too keen on this colour scheme when I first saw it. I don’t actually like the new Star Alliance colours as it is.

A great improvement on the current Air India livery. I cannot stand the windows all framed in red. Along with Air France, this is an airline which needs a change.

Visitor Centre will be practically impossible to get to. I think I’ll be arriving in style on the tube at Hatton Cross, am just trying to figure out where I need to go to get onto it.

Trying to find the easiest way of getting there using public transport, but count me in! 😉

A very different, but interesting website. Love this United colour scheme that someone has posted. Would be great to see it for real one day…

When you say the approximate cost of a charter meal is £3, do you mean to the passenger or to the airline?

We decided some months ago that charging for meals, especially on charters was an advantage because it allowed passengers to forget the optional extras, bringing the cost of the holiday down. Much like transfers to/from the airport ar £10 per person.

But for Iberia, a bad move in my opinion. You expect this from a national carrier.

I’ve been so fortunate with inflight meals. None have been particularly disgusting.

My Thai report said that I thoroughly enjoyed the Chinese style pork on the outbound flight. It didn’t tatse like airline food and was of extremely high quality.

The British Airways All Day Deli range is not something I’m overly keen on, although the food is first class stuff. Since I very fairly eat all these random vegetables (which I’ve never heard of) in a wrap, I’m sometimes put off.

Tremendous well done to you Ren,

Great photo as well. I really like your shots with extra components in them, they make it so much more interesting. 😀

I never flew Airtours/MyTravel DC-10s, but I did fly both of the JMC DC-10s three years ago and had much the same experience as Ren Frew.

Typical signs of an ageing aircraft – broken air conditioning and shabby interiors. When you get this along with cold customer service, no legroom and poor entertainment, the flight isn’t really all that enjoyable.

The aircraft was falling apart so much that my father’s seat was wobbly. It fell into the recline position and just flopped back down when we pulled it forward. When the seatbelt sign was on, he had to take another seat. Not good when you pay £15 to pre-book your seats on a long haul flight to the Dominican Republic.

The air conditioning leaked quite badly throughout the aircraft. It worked, keeping the cabin quite cool, but it was also flooding the aircraft!

Wow… they’re all so great! I usualy pick out a few that I really like and say why I like them, but they are all so good.

Where do I begin? The DHC-6 of British Airways (Loganair) with the EZY 737 in the background is great. The arriving British Midland aircraft and other departing aircraft look good, that yellow rod with the red light on top (apologies for the lack of technical jargon there) also looks brilliant.

Well done Ren, let’s see more! 😀

    Hello again,

I think many of us (including myself) get our avatars from Aerosite.net (http://www.aerosite.net) where they have a section devoted to 60 x 60 pixel avatar images.

Go to http://www.aerosite.net/avatar01.htm for the first of three pages of avatars.

Great reports – 2 airlines in one.. brilliant!

Not sure about the £2.00 headphones on Monarch though. You pay, but you don’t get to keep them? Not such great value. I don’t know if this is standard of all charter airlines.

I know Airtours charged us £2.50 last year, but we were allowed to keep them.

Anyway, great start to the forum, Nationwide Air, nice to have you with us.

    A great selection of photographs.

The MYT 767-300s need a colour scheme in my opinion. They look so dull without.
