Most of them reminded me of Icelandair. Don’t ask why, I guess it’s just the colours.

It’s not so much the cost that is a major factor when flying first class. You can afford it, so can I. My family are fairly well-off. It’s more a case of wanting to pay that much to upgrade and get a couple of extras thrown in.

I also believe it is the charter airlines that you need to pay extra for, their “first class” legroom is the equivalent of a scheduled carrier’s economy seat.

Are you heading down to Phuket? Great place, although other places like Pattaya and Chiang Mai are also worth a visit. Bangkok itself is very interesting, but you’ll need a break after spending time there!

I’ve heard some mixed reviews about them recently, but most seem to think that the fact that there are no PTVs in economy lets the airline down, buth otherwise, they are meant to be good.

We’re only flying into Bangkok and then hop aboard the bus as we are staying in Pattaya (as you mentioned). My parents went in February/March and four days after coming back, booked to go again. They flew Qatar to Bangkok via Doha and said the service was spectacular. However, there was a real lack of flights available at the time of booking with British Airways virtually fully booked, Qatar fully booked, Qantas fully booked (!!) and Thai on the verge of being booked up.

I doubt we’ll get to see Phuket, unfortunately. But I’m not sure just yet, we are there for 3 weeks after all. I understand it’s a fair few miles by road though? I don’t know if I could sit in a car that long, especially in temperatures of at least 35C which they have had recently.

I’ve heard it is a fantastically cheap (good value) country for just about everything. I cannot wait to get into the town centres and buy loads of DVDs, watches, wallets etc at about 5% of the UK prices!

Most importantly, Internet cafes. I cannot go on holiday for 3 weeks and not check the forum now and again. 😀 Call me sad!

I’d love to see something big like a 747 landing on the beach. 😀

I was in an A Level exam today and my tummy was churning. Not surprisingly, it was putting me off.
