One major downside to slide film is the cost. Not only will a single roll of the stuff set you back by about £10 (dependant upon the brand), but it is expensive to get prints from.

I took my slides to UK “High Street” Photography Shops and enquired about getting prints of 5 slides at 8″ by 12″ each. Snappy Snaps quoted me a rather hefty £8.99 EACH and Jessops asked for just £2.99 each. I think that if you are to be a frequent user of slide film, a film scanner with slide-scanning capabilities is a must.

But it all depends upon what you are more concerned about – the cost or the quality?

It’s obvious to use the Nokia as ‘phoning a landline, for up to 50 mins a month, doesn’t cost me a bean but the Motorola’s more comfortable, easier to use and clearer to hear. Admittedly it’s bigger but the distance between my ear and my mouth hasn’t got smaller since I bought it.

I don’t think there are phones available that do not come with games and web access etc. My phone has some really pathetic Tamagotchi-like (1990s craze) creature which you have to care for every day. Not surprisingly, the poor little pet is neglected.

But don’t anyone go reporting me to the RSPCA, it’s not real!

Interesting news regarding Ghana, but I’m hooked on the potential merger between BMI British Midland and Virgin Atlantic. Could be a great move for both airlines – one long haul operator and short haul operator!

What are the 2 original BMI 330s doing at the moment? Do they fly to the USA? I’ve just answered this for myself (or EGNM has), have just seen the post posted a few minutes before mine!
