    My list of airlines is kept to a minimum, but they do span the globe and are major carriers from a number of countries:

    * Aeroflot (For Eastern Europe)
    * Air Jamaica (Limited long haul services, but connecting flights to North, South America and the Caribbean through Montego Bay)
    * American Airlines (For North America)
    * British Airways (Europe)
    * South African Airways (For Africa)
    * Thai Airways International (Flights to Australia available through Bangkok)
    * Varig (For South America)

    It’s so nice to see people’s own photographs. Also nice to see a Thai 747 in the background! 😀

    Very nice.

    I’ve been to Innsbruck several times before, but not to the airport.

    I read about this in today’s paper, a good story. I can just imagine the frustration of the pilots as they wondered what on earth was happening!

    I used to be part of BA Virtual. I flew about 3 flights (regional, of course) and then got fed up with it. But if didn’t log a flight for a month or something, you were “sacked”. So, I had to forge a couple of entries in the log. They then introduced a more complex method of logging flights, so I just stopped and didn’t hand in my “Virtual Notice” – LOL! 😀

    Oh, the 767 😀 !! I’ve got a book about the MD80 series of aircraft and there is a photo of an Airtours aircraft in this rather ancient looking colour scheme.

    As much as I like it, I do prefer the last scheme, the one Preston shows in his avatar.

    BBC’s Airport is brilliant, totally agreed there. I think the BBC is a better station than ITV all round. ITV and it’s programmes are low-budget, tacky productions.

    That’s a great, very funny article!

    I know how he feels about the situation though. When I went to New York, I flicked through the catalogues to kill an hour or so before we landed. They had lots of strange items in there – pointless American gadgets which were useless to anybody!

    British Airways also do the same things though. I have travelled with them twice (Feb 2002 and Feb 2003) and their catalogus is much like any other airlines – an impressive selection of cigarettes and alcohol, jewellry and airline souvenirs. But then, stuck randomly on a page, a coffee frother for making frothy coffees! Whatever for?! And at £13 (I think), it’s a rip-off, we bought one in Slough for an unbeatable £3! 😀 😀

    We have until Wednesday to decide what will be happening with regard to our holiday – we will cancel it or go ahead with it as planned.

    By then, you’ll know for sure if I’m coming.

    Wow… the 100th reply to this topic!
