I have only travelled once with Virgin Trains and that was Reading to Oxford, all of 30 minutes, but it was a pleasant experience with on time departures.

However, I recently had a friend who travelled to the south coast with them on a slightly more modern train, one with gadgets and shops on board.

Nice pic, certainly the Britannia colour scheme in it’s better days. I had a couple of shots of the under-carriage of G-OBYI (also a 767-300) but lost all but one of them! 😡

I’m a little “picky” with regard to the 767. With the 3 types available, I don’t like the -200 series because it’s too short, whereas the -400 series just doesn’t appeal, perhaps because it has had a few changes made; length, winglets etc. But the -300 is just perfect.

You got it in one Andrew!

Welcome along LGWboy and I’d like to congratulate you on choosing such a fine aircraft to post for us – I love the 767-300!

Ryanair and BMIbaby have both done it with logojets and advertisements on the tail of aircraft. I don’t think it’s an effective method of advertising though.

That aircraft just looks dreadfully cluttered with text everywhere.

Perhaps a few of them were leaning against the door when it happened?

Very nice and it’s a Joe Pries photograph, his work is always of a similarly high quality.

And nice to see the special colour scheme for Thai again.

I would of thought it did mean that – ex Ansett Australia and ex Singapore, but not ex Qantas? I’m puzzled..

If that is a new colour scheme, I quite like it. The old colour scheme was ageing a little and the windows, each with the red border didn’t look too great.

Seen a few photographs like this on the forums. Something to do with the aircraft not being loaded from the front.

Indeed, a lovely photograph. The outlook is still bleak and it is unclear as to what will be happening, but it’s certainly a unique colour scheme and I’d love to see it up close, in the flesh!

    Preston,

I don’t think that by having to change trains 3 times you incur 3 separate fares. I travelled to my home town from Gatwick with two train companies and only paid one fare – I was not told that because I had to change trains, I would have to pay an extra couple of quid.
