RE: Airliners you’d love to fly on
Interesting topic – I’ve enjoyed flying on the DC10 but I didn’t think that JMC was the airline to do it with. The facilities on board were not great, the video screens were not evenly distributed around the cabin and panels in the cabin itself were just generally tacky and falling apart – typical of an old aircraft I guess.
I would, however, love to fly on a smaller aircraft which I very much doubt I will ever do. I’ve never flown on a Turbo Prop nor a BAe 146 or anything of similar size. The fact that they operate mainly regional flights means I’m not goin to get the chance unfortunately as we would normally drive or use the train for such short distances.
With aircraft which are a rare sight these days, I would love to try the 707 and perhaps the Tristar which I may have flown in the past with Caledonian, but I’m too young to remember.
And one more – Concorde. It’s never been an aircraft I’ve been too fussed about but surely you haven’t experienced air travel to it’s fullest potential until you’ve tried Concorde. I guess it is the finest commercial aircraft operated in the UK (which is arguable, of course). At several thousand ££ each way and just one destination on offer all year round, I think it’s something else I can only dream of, something I’ll never be lucky enough to experience..!
