It’s a shame because the 757 and 767 are both great aircraft in my mind. I didn’t realise that the 757 was a “slow-selling” aircraft, but they know what they’re doing and it’ll be something exciting to look forward to! What would happen after the 787 and the 797, would it go to 807?

English and believe it or not, I studied German for 4 years and I’m crap at it. Since stopping last year, I’ve forgotten just about all I ever knew.

They only change the aircraft in exceptional circumstances though don’t they? But I know what you mean… I was expecting Airtours A330 and ended up on a 767 for my return flight and I was incredibly disappointed!

Incredibly insane suggestion, but I’d build an apartment on top of Heathrow’s Control Tower and sit and watch all day whilst spending the few millions of ££ leftover on the Internet.

APPARENTLY…

A worker who carried out some checks on this piece of track just three weeks ago complained to someone more senior than himself about the state it was in and the fact that it needed repair. This senior figure did nothing about it and the worker who carried out the checks is currently being questioned by police.

They actually suspected vandals for the state of the track, if this was the case I may question what sort of world we live in.

I too had that problem a few weeks back and had to use lniks all the time. IT said I had to be logged in to use this facility which I already had done… sorts itself out eventually!

If you get hold of an Airtours/MyTravel holiday brochure and take a look in the back, it usually tells you all the information such as time of flights, arrival time, departure time etc. I’m fairly sure it says what aircraft you’d be on.

But Softlad seems pretty sure it’s a SkyService A320, so looks like thats what it is!

It’s still incredibly poor that something like this has happened again.. Paddington, Hatfield and now this all within a couple of years. I wouldn’t agree that it’s bad luck, it’s poor organisation in a number of different areas.

Our railways are crap… without a doubt. The trains can’t run on time and it seems the select few that do, crash. I was watching the news earlier and they were unsure of the problem. It seemed like a problem with the track at first and a train coming from the other direction supposedly collided with the wreckage. If this did happen, it’s certainly not good. The train crashing in the first place was bad enough, but a train continuing it’s journey towards the scene of the crash without knowing what is ahead really is stupid… it shows just how poorly organised the whole railway industry is in the UK.

Don’t know if they still do but they used to operate just one. The picture I used was taken 8 years ago… so probably withdrawn it from service or sold it on now.

I took a look on Airliners.net for Monarch Airlines @ Heathrow and came up with one photo from 1996, surely this area I saw is not used for a just a few weeks a year?
