RE: A310
Being cramped on an aircraft is pretty standard these days, but having not flown one one, I wouldn’t know about how stuffy it gets or how small it seems etc.
RE: Pic Of The Day-Kai Tak
Kai Tak had a very unpractically located runway, but the aircraft coming in/going out make great pics…
…like this one.
RE: Airport picture of the day-Australia
Good photo… it’s a shame that BA did not keep that livery, certainly the best of the last few they have had.
RE: What´s this city?
Possibly Barcelona? Looks vaguely like it when we come into the airport back in February. Very hilly area as the Pyrenees are not too far away.
We also came across a stretch of water about 5 or 10 minutes before landing…?
RE: Your pic….
Ok…

RE: What is your all time favourite airliner?
How could I forget the Tristar! That and the DC-10 come joint first without a doubt!
RE: What is your all time favourite airliner?
A great topic Benair…
You got good taste is all I can say. I think the 757 and A330 are both fantastic looking aircraft and the A330 itself is a joy to fly as I found with Airtours just a few days ago.
The 757 was also good (or okay) to fly on when I went from Gatwick to Girona back in 1999 with Britannia.
I think my favourite airline of all time has to be the DC-10 though. Being a package holiday sort of person and only ever getting to fly the charter airlines, I get to fly a good slection of aircraft and JMC’s G-GOKT and G-LYON in 2000 from Gatwick to Puerto Plata (Dom Rep) were brilliant.
Sadly, these aircraft have been withdrawn from service from JMC Air and one now flys for World Airways (as you saw in yesterday’s quiz) and the other is god only knows where! These aircraft have fortunately been replaced by yet more fine aircraft – the A330.
RE: Pic Of The Day-Innsbruck
I’ve been to Innsbruck several times, but not skiing. We lived out in Germany before moving to where we are now (Reading, UK) and often spent a week or so there quite often… it’s a fantastic place.
I agree with EGNM and Benair, that livery looks a bit dated now and could do with a change.
RE: UK Airports ignore ban on noisy jets
I’d quite happily offer a measly sum of cash to those living on flight paths! Imagine it – waking up in the morning, pull back the curtains and you’re only metres away from a BA 747… fantastic!
RE: UK Airports ignore ban on noisy jets
The sounds of aircraft are being called ‘noise’? That’s a disgrace!
It’s quite amazing the way the 732 and 738 have been compared to one another and the sound they create.
RE: forum chat………
Thanks Saab… I’m having to use the name MyTravel as T5 is not being accepted for being less than 3 characters.
RE: Airport picture of the day-Europe
Great photo. Very cleverly taken the picture at such a convenient time with the BA 757 in the position it is in.
I have certainly changed the way I feel about the 757. I used to find it very different from other Boeing aircraft, but it’s certainly an amazing looking aircraft!
RE: ::QUIZ TIME::
Thats good enough for me… here’s the answers:
1 is indeed a Thomas Cook Airlines A320
2 is a Delta MD-90
3 is a World Airways DC-10-30
4 is Miami Airways 727
5 So what links 1 and 3? Firstly, you had to guess that the World Airlines aircraft was a DC-10.
Then think about Thomas Cook (the travel agency) which works very closely with JMC. JMC is the initials of John Mason Cook, he’s the man whose dad is called Thomas (Yes, Thomas Cook).
Then there is a slight clue with JMC because they operated the DC-10 and still operate the A320, so yes, they came from the same airline (JMC).
RE: Funny Ha Ha
lol… very funny. we don’t get quite as many jokes as we should on here! good to see someone has hopefully started a new craze!
RE: ::QUIZ TIME::
Not too bad EGNM, but I’m not going to reveal anything just yet! Keep trying…!! 😉
