RE: Why do I bother?
I got a really bad feeling about saying this, but how about rotating the ‘pic of the day’ slightly? By this, I mean why don’t some of us have a go at finding top notch aircraft pictures? Or introduce Pic of the Day ‘downunder’. It’s pretty routine for Kabir to pic of the day and to take that away from him would be tragic because he has a fine collection of pics but perhaps a new regular section would go down a little better. I have looked at your pics and think they are great as with all others displayed on the forum… you photographers deserve a good pat on the back because your work is great!
If you disagree with what I’ve said, please don’t post a reply, I’ll get the message eventually!! 🙂
RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!
Yeah, I done that too. I went from down here in Reading to Italy. It was supposed to take 22 hours by coach/eurotunnel and ended up taking 27 hours coz the drivers got lost along the way. makes me wonder how companies like Shearings are still in business! Why on earth do people want to go by coach when they can get there in a tenth of the time by air? And there really is not much difference in price between a Shearings coach holiday and a package holiday.
RE: OFF TOPIC – Yellow Fever?
In the arm, fortunately. Not quite as dramatic as I had first imagined! Very sought after stuff the old yellow fever vaccine… such a challenge trying to get hold of the stuff!
RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!
oh no… not a school trip!! I will never do that again. It was hell. Our teacher checked us all in and we were sat in alphabetical order. There were only 26 boys on the trip aged between 16 and a half and 18 so we are more than capable of checking ourselves in. I didn’t get a window seat either way and was sat next to two people I didn’t even know…!! argh!
RE: Airline television advertisments
no, UA didn’t sponsor the last series, I think they sponsored 2 of the 4 series and they have some other non-aviation related company doing it now.
RE: OFF TOPIC – Yellow Fever?
Well, I had it now and got an international citificate to prove it..!! I’m so brave!
RE: one photograph is all I need!
hmm… my weekend job doesn’t pay that well!! Is there anyone a little more local? 🙂
RE: one photograph is all I need!
I’ll even pay you with ‘sought-after’ Airtours souvenirs!
RE: Flying in Concorde
Can someone just confirm or correct me on this…
Is Concorde being withdrawn from service in 2010?
RE: A Nice pic of a ugly plane!
The Beluga, right?
I think it is a work of art and in a league of it’s own compared to other cargo aircraft. It’s almost the A380, they just need a few seats chucked in the cargo section.
RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!
Thanks for your help everyone – I dont know why I didnt do it in the first place but I have consulted Airtours and they have told me it is an Airbus A330 – fantastic aircraft, cant wait!
RE: Aviation related films?
Castaway was a good film. The special effects were great and the plane crash was brilliant (the way it was done I mean).
I wonder if FedEx actually deliver parcels which are involved in plane crashes and soaking wet?
RE: what aircraft am I flying on?!
Brilliant, thanks for your help everyone. I’ll just hope it is an A330!
By the way, anyone seen the site where someone has scanned in their sick bag collections?! And the really bad thing is that he actually puts a copyright on them with hi name alongside it! I had to email him and tell him that the airlines ‘could’ take legal action but I very much doubt they’d waste their time!
RE: OFF TOPIC – Yellow Fever?
Thanks, that’s a relief!! I had all my other important ones back in 99 and they’re all valid for 5/10 years I think so I dont have to have many!
RE: Flying in Concorde
Dan330 – Would you say it is worth £6,000 for a ticket to New York? I qould rather fly on a 747 in first class and save a few thousand!
