    True.

But PeeDee is flying to Beijing, not Taipei.

    Yes, I know.

If you look at the post that I quoted, I was simply pointing out that China Airlines do fly to Heathrow, contrary to what somebody else had said.

China Airlines (Taiwan) does to my knowledge not fly from Heathrow

    They do.

Services from London to Taipei began back in March.

    Great shots!

Always nice to see the occasional photo of G-YEOM – an aircraft I used to see most days down at Bristol.

    It’s almost certainly a mistake.

Look at the limited destinations offered by Manx2 and you will see ‘Santa Flight’. Conveniently, this flight departs the Isle of Man at the same time as this apparent flight to San Diego – 13.30hrs on Saturday 11 December.

There must just have been some confusion with the first three letters of ‘Santa’ also being the airport identifier for San Diego.

We seem to have been quite lucky in Reading. We have had next to nothing in the way of snow and life goes on as normal.

    Great shots.

It’s amazing to think that the Emirates 777 is going from extreme to another in just seven or so hours. From a very cold and snowy Glasgow to the hot deserts of Dubai.

I flew into Gatwick last Christmas and out of Heathrow on 2nd January. I worried about both flights as there had been significant snowfall in the south of England at the time.

Despite the bad weather, operations at Gatwick appeared to be only slightly affected. It was on the following day, however, that even more snow fell, resulting in a number of cancellations and diversions to cities all over the country. I seem to recall checking the situation with Orlando flights (that’s where I had arrived from) on the following day – of which there were three. One was diverted, one was delayed by an hour and another was delayed by around 90 minutes.

The weather by the new year had cleared up and the only delays were the result of the extra security checks, introduced after the failed Christmas terrorist attack.

In Christmas 2006, I flew into Heathrow late on Christmas Eve and out again on the evening of 31 December. Weather again caused havoc with many flights, thanks to thick fog covering much of the country. After arriving into Amsterdam from Seoul, I was desperate to catch the last flight to Heathrow before Christmas, but the departure board didn’t look too good. Thankfully though, my flight did go. The weather at Heathrow wasn’t pretty though!

Fantastic shots, but I don’t envy you being out there in those wintry conditions!

    Excellent shots.

The A380 must be Emirates flight EK1 arriving at around 11.30am? A flight I was on just a couple of weeks ago. What a comfortable way that travel that is!

All three 777-300ERs (G-STBA to STBC) have been operating to only Chicago, Mumbai and Dubai.
