Andonce again RAFALE IN INDIA HAS NOTHING TO DO IN THIS TOPIC!!!!!
Here:
Why offsets aren’t paying off for India
https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/offsets-fail-to-take-off-with-merely-20-completion-rate-in-a-decade/articleshow/67447007.cmsSpecifically on Rafale:
https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/rafale-modi-govt-gave-unprecedented-waivers-in-offset-agreements/article26775545.eceHow about this nugget:
https://www.thehindu.com/news/national/anil-ambani-firm-got-1437-mn-tax-relief-from-france-after-rafale-announcement-le-monde-report/article26828271.eceAnd yet it’s o.k. for you to claim that Canada is getting “molested: by L-M for what? Canada winning 1.2 billion in contracts a F-35 partner nation (which they’ve not purchased), then structured a fighter competition with promise of industrial offsets that violate the partner agreements which Canada signed?
Right.
offsets are mandatory in Canadian law and do not really violate the partner agreements. And yes LM (as usual) molests Canada.
the nuget is pure BS, e.g. the “internal document t” obtained was an ambiguous trade union report…BS to support Gnadi nothing less.
About your “nugget”, its just been dismissed by supreme Court. Again.
Sorry, offsets are going fine despite the hindu (a press extremely close to congress party).
Aka you’re talking shit from general press. Give me data, not elections material
A combat aircraft purchase is a long term decision. Who knows what the world will look like in 30 years?
Ever saw me saying “the americans ” or such? and absolutely wrong, please document yourself before making hot air. Everything is going fine and on schedule in Nagpur, Safran is fixing Kaveri, MBDA help for missiles etc.nothing such as vague or dubious. Bad faith…
Again, what is Dassault doing here. And guess what? Indians are very happy with Rafale deal, except Rahul Ghandi that was wistled back to his kennel for the second time by SC.
So if you think DA molested India, give proper argument or shut up.
Again, DAssault and France have nothing to do here.
The US is not forcing anything on Canada. All we ask is that Canada sticks to the agreement that they not only willingly signed, but are currently benefiting from to the tune of $Billions.
Show me your billions? Btw, where is it written that partners MUST buy F-35?
Canada has contributed roughly 500 million over the course of the program and Canadian firms have won over 1 billion in awarded contracts so far. They are doing quite well as a partner nation (one reason they haven’t left and continue to pay into the program).
1 billion contracts are far from 1 billion benefits. Cost/benefit analysis?
Could be worse, they could be purchasing 36 Rafale for 9 billion and receiving only vague offsets promises and JV of dubious value. Dassault is only required to fulfill half of the offsets within the first seven years. Worse, the track record of foreign firms delivering on industrial offsets is abysmal. Molested…. That is a modest description of what Dassault did to India on the Rafale deal.
Canadian industry has already been awarded over one billion in F-35 contracts. But yeah, buy French.
Absolutely wrong and stupid. You should have a look at what happens in India before shouting enormities like that. In Nagpur, complete front sections of Falcon 2000 are now built. New very large hangar is being built. Want photos?
You are really becoming tiresome with your constant french rantings. France have nothing to do here, DAssault is not candidate anymore in Canada due to 5 eyes .
if all Switzerland needs is simply just numbers capable of doing QRA and CAP all the time, they should just go for the cheapest one.
and I guess out of that list, it would be the Gripen.
Che”ck, A2G missions are needed.
And how does this indicate that it was poorly led? How is learning about a possible attack vector AND devising mitigation factors before there is such a corrosive attack a failure? Again, how long do you think it will be before there is another stealth platform cleared for carrier based ops?
And any material you use is going to have attack vectors for corrosion. Titanium alloys have them (dassault uses them), carbon fiber composites have them (dassault uses them), and, yes, aluminum alloys have them. The goal is to manage corrosion…unless if you are advocating building a stealth fighter from noble gases!
Easy : costs and delays. What is DAssault doing in here (again)? Ti alloys are much more resistant to corrosion than Al 7000 series alloys. PS i said issue, not failure.
LM is simply molesting Canada.
Pfff. Demleteris is based in Viroflay. Near Paris. Pierre Duval phone number is a +33, absolutely french.
Batard partners is only managing experts pool
OK, but groundbreaking engineering is always going to have some unexpected costs. There is inherently a discovery aspect to engineering.
Regarding the ones sailing with the fleets, we will find out soon enough. Lockmart knew from the start that the stealth aspect would always open up further attack vectors, and they have been working towards methods for mitigating that fact for decades. Let’s put this another way, how long do you think it will be before anyone else is able to design and construct a stealth platform that can operate in a saltwater heavy environment? Other than the FC-31, there is as of yet nothing that is widely discussed as designed for it. And as for the FC-31, I would hate to be a pilot operating in a highly corrosive environment on experimental Chinese materials science. Other carrier based designs could be a long ways off…a long ways!
That is exactly why i say the program was poorly led. too ground breaking instead of a clear path for implementing the program step by step. Furthermore, due to delays, program after rebaseline went too fast in order to meet a timeline instead of technical steps. Tipycally reducing the number of tests. Once again i do believe that when mature the product will be fine, but by hurrying, it was finally slowed down.
Remember that 7085 alloy from alcoa was used because the early F-35 were too heavy. Therefore in 2007 engineers switched from titanium to 7085. 2000 and 7000 families of allys are not to be used in corrosive environment (although it is hard not to use them due to elastic properties) . Every aluminium alloys cointaining copper have corrosion issues.
Do you remember this?

overplaying? Please read what i said.
Corrosion issue. Leading to unexpected costs.
Not to mention, what will happen to B and C models stationed on ships sailing in tropical waters?
The french have nothing to do here.
Oh btw, corrosion issues on australian F-35…

Another “solved” problem i guess?
as i said, one day it will be a nice airplane. In the meanwhile, extremely poorly led program (except on political side). Constantly rebaselined, new issues, faulty functions, delayed etc etc. LMshould be sued by Gov.
